Hey there, it's Evan Nathaniel Grimm, and welcome to the latest episode of my podcast, astrology Unbound. Today we're going to talk about the Cancer New Moon on July 5th and, in the spirit of the sign of Cancer, we're also going to talk about the house of your birth chart that has associations with Cancer, which is the fourth house. So in everyone's birth chart there are 12 houses, and I get questions all the time about what does my rising sign mean? What does my sun or moon mean? But I want to focus on the fourth house today because not only is it associated with the sign of cancer, but it is very crucial to understanding who you are, because it speaks to your internal foundation, your home, your family, your upbringing, and so hopefully, after this episode, you have a much firmer understanding of your roots and you may say I know everything about my family. But with the chart we can actually see the energetic imprint of that moment when you came into the world and you know, when you're zero years old you don't really have a cognition to understand, like what's going on around me. So the fourth house can really speak to that origin story and even the ancestry, and so we'll walk through that.
Speaker 1:And before we begin, I want to remind you to subscribe to my sub stack. The first tier is free for everybody and there's a lot of good information. For example, I do the monthly horoscopes over there, the transcripts of my horoscopes. I also offer introductory statements about the new and full moons. But if you want to become a paid subscriber, you will also get access to actual step-by-step strategic manifestation guides and also intention-setting journal prompts and a host of other facts and predictions, and so definitely check that out.
Speaker 1:So let's jump into this Cancer New Moon, which is happening on July 5th at 3.57 pm Pacific time, and before I go through the meanings of this particular moon, I want to reiterate what is a new moon? So we have lunation cycles, right, we have these lunation cycles, which occur every 29 and a half days we get a new moon, and the new moon is symbolizing the planting of a seed, a new beginning, and that's why astrologers recommend that you actually set intentions during a new moon, because it is the birth of a new cycle and when you plant that seed, you are trying to shape the growth and the growth trajectory of that seed and you want to try and visualize like what do you actually want to be bringing into reality two weeks later when we have a full moon. So to get into the rhythm of the lunation cycles is important, because what happens is you actually put yourself in lockstep with that manifestation journey as well. So when there is a new moon, you want to set those intentions. What do I want to achieve in two weeks time? But on top of that, there's another layer and another timeline where we have a full moon in that same zodiac sign approximately six months later.
Speaker 1:Today we're going to talk about the key themes and how they apply to you and the collective. So, with this sign of cancer, cancer is dealing very much with the nurturing process. It is our emotions, our home, our sensitivities, it is our family and it is sort of that protective layer that we're building so that we can feel comfortable in our own internal space. And when I think about cancer, new moons, there's something very natural about it, because the moon rules the sign of cancer. When we have that new moon, it's really a time to think about what is my home base, what is my comfort zone, what is my foundation at this time and how am I really practicing self-care? Because, remember, cancer is a water sign and it's a cardinal water sign and cardinal signs are very dynamic, very action-oriented, and they're actually taking initiative to accomplish something. And when you have the sign of cancer, it is actually about taking that first step to really nurture yourself. And once you build that sense of nurturing, then you can go out there and nurture others ideally. And there's something healing about cancer as well, because cancer understands again what kind of nourishment do I need? So for some of you maybe there is a theme here of getting in touch with your family, focusing on your home, and do you want to do something different with your home? Do you actually want to think about living somewhere else? So those are some high-level themes within the sign of Cancer.
Speaker 1:But of course, every new moon in a zodiac sign will have its own characteristics based on the configuration of all the other planets. So this new moon is very special because what we have is a very spiritual new moon, way, way beyond actually, many other sort of your average new moon. Because, number one, this new moon is actually aligned with the fixed star, Sirius, and Sirius is the brightest star in the sky. It is the dog star. The helical rising of Sirius was actually tied to the beginning of the Egyptian calendar. So the Egyptians would observe that and they would associate it with the flooding of the Nile.
Speaker 1:So Sirius has a range of meanings throughout different cultures and mythologies. A range of meanings throughout different cultures and mythologies. But in the astrological tradition the star Sirius has this very larger-than-life type of quality to it. It's very idiosyncratic and it is kind of unsuspecting. But what happens with the energy of Sirius is that the things that people with strong placements near Sirius do, the sort of seemingly ordinary things that they do, or the again unsuspecting things that they do, can have massive consequences and can actually change the course of human history. Now, this is just one example.
Speaker 1:But the United States, the son of the United States, the birth chart of the United States is at 13, cancer, which is aligned very closely with the fixed star Sirius. And from that perspective we think about Sirius as not only the dog star but sometimes the lone wolf. The lone wolf that doesn't really fit in but has this unique quality to it that everyone else is sort of fascinated by. So the United States you think about the history of this country, rebelling against the British crown. That is a rebellious act and that was an incredibly progressive act right to try to form a union that is based on democratic ideals and not based on a monarchy.
Speaker 1:You think about a celebrity like Kurt Cobain. Kurt Cobain has his moon conjunct, sirius, and it was so strange, you know, to see how quickly he rose to fame. How quickly he rose to fame. Someone who was just kind of jamming around and playing sort of this hybrid of metal music and borrowing from some of the 80s indie artists, suddenly overnight comes out with Nevermind and that record, within a few months, was selling at arenas. So that is truly the essence of Sirius Just suddenly, overnight, there can be one idea that you extrapolate from or you build on and the world is forever changed because of that. If you even just googled that, you know celebrities with Sirius placements like you'd get a long list.
Speaker 1:So to have a new moon very close to the fixed star, sirius, I do think it has this special, exceptional spiritual sort of quality and undertone to it. So you know it would be very generic to say, oh, you know, we have a cancer in the immune, so just take care of yourself, right? In this case you are taking care of yourself from a truly spiritual perspective, as in connecting with higher beings, interdimensional beings, spirit guides, allowing. You know that self-care process has to factor in. I really think it has to factor in spiritual practices. So, you know, really don't think about this as a standard Cancer New Moon. Really think outside the box During this New Moon, like plant that kind of seed where you're like, hey, I'm going to set myself up for some kind of breakthrough, and it is a breakthrough that comes from the ether.
Speaker 1:It's not necessarily material. And then on top of that we have Jupiter, also aligned with the fixed star Aldebaran, and Aldebaran is another prominent star that is associated with Archangel Michael, the Crusades. And in my own research I've noticed and as someone myself who has Mars conjunct Aldebaran, I've noticed that Aldebaran placements will have this sort of bizarre channeling ability that just comes through at the most random times. It's not very consistent Now to have Jupiter at 9 Gemini plus a Cancer-New Moon conjunct Sirius. Like things can get yeah again, like they can get a little bit strange, and it's like uncharted territory and you're just going to, you have to allow yourself to. Maybe it's like if you're trying to row, you know if you're trying to row in that boat. As you go, you know into the waters and you're getting further out and you can't see the shoreline anymore. And then you start to panic and you're like, well, maybe I should start to steer back towards that shore because I don't really, you know, I don't want to get lost. This is kind of that type of new moon where it's like maybe you just stop rowing and you actually let go and say, you know, I think that this boat is going to take me somewhere that I haven't been, but I'm going to trust that that place is going to be kind of like breaking me up and into another level of my life. And so, with Jupiter conjunct Aldebaran, if you want a little bit more of a concrete application of this.
Speaker 1:Gemini has a lot to do with writing and at the ninth degree of Gemini I would say, stream of consciousness, writing, unstructured writing, maybe waking up first thing in the morning just writing a few pages down. I almost feel like maybe, when you're setting intentions for this Cancer New Moon, there's an aspect of your intention setting that should be completely free, free flowing. Now I still think you want to sort of carve out some time to set like a very clear intention. So, again, if you're really feeling like, hey, I want to structure something like you know, feel free to do that, but I'm feeling like this is a little bit more just organic, natural. It's just, it doesn't have to make sense right away, but at some point it will, and so I think that's a technique that could really work for you.
Speaker 1:And whatever you're writing down during that Cancer, new Moon could be the beginning of a new story, a new book, a new podcast idea or something communications driven podcast idea or something communications driven and, yeah, I think a lot of people may come up with just, it's like a genius. It's a genius idea. Could be like a film franchise five years from now. Like you don't want to, you never want to sell yourself short, right, but like, especially on this new moon. I mean, do you want to be part of the change or not, is my question, because I want to bring this to another sort of level, which is to contextualize this with what's going on in the United States right now.
Speaker 1:So the last episode I was talking about what's going on with Saturn, Neptune, retrograde. Now, having seen the presidential debates or the debate, we can see that the center is not very solid. There's really like no core right now and we don't know exactly. Like. Frankly, I don't think we really know, like who the candidates will be come November, because what we saw you know, what we saw with Joe Biden was just a lack of coherence.
Speaker 1:And, exactly like I said last week, when you have a debate during a Pisces moon, right before Saturn and Neptune retrograde and at the balsamic phase of a Saturn-Neptune cycle, we're seeing how there's something fundamentally lacking in our leadership. There's something fundamentally that is not resonating. There's something fundamentally that is not resonating. There's something dysfunctional and that can create almost an existential level crisis in this country, but that also creates an opening for other people to really come up with their own ideas for what that future should look like, and so maybe there is an alternative candidate. I mean, you saw RFK get. I mean, I think he got like 10 million views on his Twitter feed. He hosted his own debate, which is, by the way, very Pluto and Aquarius it's very Aquarian, actually and maybe there's some power and momentum behind him that's coming through.
Speaker 1:Maybe there is someone that replaces Biden, but either way, regardless of how that actually manifests, there is a sense of entropy, right. So we have out of order chaos, out of chaos order, and we're in that switch right now from just a little bit of order to maybe a lot of chaos, and just to amplify that theme, like Mars and Uranus are leading up to a conjunction during this new moon. Mars conjunct, uranus is not stable. It feels almost like IBS. You haven't had dairy in five years. And then you just chug a gallon of milk. Just think about that for a second. That's what Mars-Uranus is. And so it's like there's sort of like an earthquake going on in society. It just like, think about that for a second, like that's what Mars, uranus is. And so it's like there's sort of like an 5th all the way to July 15th, when that conjunction is exact.
Speaker 1:It's just like everyone is feeling like there are no chaperones, like no one's actually running the show, and what are we going to do about it? So I think the key is to not really feel like you are beholden to any of these outside structures anymore. You want to rip apart that paradigm and any grief or sadness or loss that you feel is just a loss of that old world. It's not actually detrimental to you at all, actually detrimental to you at all. So if you are experiencing during this time, like a friendship, like completely falling away or, um, that you feel completely out of touch with the job you have, uh, you're having trouble connecting with certain family members, like this feeling of maybe separateness or separation or erosion. It's like, yeah, but it's like that skin needs to be shed, like that skin is like there's something else. It's like a jacket you're putting down. It's a jacket you're putting down. It wasn't meant to last forever. It is impermanent, but that's the beauty of it, the impermanence of that age and that era and that world is allowing you to step into a new one.
Speaker 1:But I just want to prepare you for it, though, because this conjunction of Mars and Uranus is exact around the RNC, the Republican National Convention, on Trump's midheaven, so even that could be, there could be some disruptions there on the Republican side. It's not that the entire system is going to collapse, because other countries have had, you know, pluto returns, but, like the US is still kind of in that Pluto return phase, and so, with all these transits going on, there's just like a lack of center right now and this acceleration towards that new age, and it's happening very quickly, so it's going to feel very unstable for a while, and if we even think about some of the alignments with, like Chiron and the North Node still very close. That brings us back to 1968. So in 1968, we had RFK's assassination and that led to Vice President Humphrey actually leading that ticket. And during 1968, we had Chiron in Aries, north Node in Aries and the alignment is very close there. So if I were to go to August of 1968 here, at that time the North Node was almost exactly to the degree where the North Node is now in Aries and Chiron was in Aries. And, by the way, if we go back to July 4th 1776, we also have Chiron in Aries again back then. So that degree point for the US birth chart was 20 degrees of Aries. And what I've noticed about Chiron and Aries just thinking back to, for example, 1968.
Speaker 1:And then now we do have these themes of leaders who are in these positions of power and they're supposed to be these symbols of strength and in many ways they are. Through the work they're doing, the activism, the causes that they're standing up for, chiron does expose sometimes the wounded aspects of that leader. That champion With Chiron and Ares it is this again, it's not a lack of strength, like if you have Chiron and Ares in your birth chart or in the first house doesn't mean that you don't have any strength, but it does show that, again, some of the people we are looking to or holding up as this example of strength don't always either fulfill those obligations or they disappear. They disappear, they vanish, and it can be very tragic. In that way.
Speaker 1:This Cancer New Moon is almost a redefinition of the United States and it's undergoing great change, and so you don't really want to sit on the sidelines and think, well, I'm just going to watch this train wreck happen. Again, you want to think about okay, what do we want the new version of this country to look like? Again, it doesn't mean that this entire experiment is over, because you look at countries in Europe, for example, that have had multiple Pluto returns. Many of them are still here and existing in the same way that they have before no-transcript. So during this Cancer New Moon, think about, okay, how am I protecting and nurturing myself? But also, what type of spiritual quest am I on, and how is that spiritual quest maybe going to influence others around me and influence, maybe, this new paradigm that comes through?
Speaker 1:And then the other aspect I want to mention on this new moon is that we do have Venus square Chiron, and Venus square Chiron is a difficult aspect. It can speak to you know ways in which you could heal a relationship. So if you're in a difficult phase with someone, you're not really getting along. You feel like there's been a lot of hurts and a lot of, maybe, insults thrown around. Maybe you can kind of finally patch things up during this new moon Because, again, cancer does have that sensitivity and it can kind of suddenly feel like it can get in touch with that pain in yourself and in the other person and be like, okay, I can see that we're both maybe really struggling through this right now. How can we kind of rectify this?
Speaker 1:But at the same time, some people may experience a moment there where there's kind of a schism in that relationship and like something was said or done that is past the point of return or repair and it's like, okay, we have to break this off. And so you want to be very careful around this time of you want to be careful with how you're approaching relationships. I mean, I would not say that this is a great new moon to try and sort of start a new relationship, because if you put yourself out there and say, hey, I like you, I want to date you like Chiron, especially in Aries, it does have this feeling of rejection and square Venus, it can kind of sting. So just be very cautious there. You don't want to set yourself up for disappointment. But if you're in a very difficult situation with someone where this is just a lot of you know again a lot of strife, put any of your sort of petty battles aside, because maybe they are kind of petty and maybe you realize that, and because we're talking about cancer, it could be with the family. So if you have any infighting in your family you're just like I haven't talked to this person in years and we're still have a really cold relationship, Maybe you would add a little bit more warmth and vulnerability to that at this time. So another thing I just thought about, as I'm really trying to dig in to the full scope of meanings for this new moon.
Speaker 1:Trying to dig in to the full scope of meanings for this new moon. I just want to go back to Joe Biden here because I want to think about his chart and how is it being activated during this time? So, first of all, he has a Scorpio stellium Sag rising and so, as a Scorpio stellium, having the Mars-Uranus conjunction opposite his stellium. It's very unexpected and disruptive and I did talk about this in a video I did a few weeks ago. But not only is Mars opposing his Scorpio stellium and creating a little bit of tension and sort of maybe like sudden moments that are very damaging to him. Sudden moments that are very damaging to him, like that's what it feels like with Mars, because Mars has this very like rapid, sudden effect and it can very suddenly cause a situation to deteriorate. And so I kind of I do have some concerns there. But it's in his sixth house of health.
Speaker 1:So it's like you wonder if, like some of his, there was some disruption there to his health, and I think we saw some evidence of that at the debate. But also, if we look at the position of Mercury on this new moon, which is what kind of sparked this thought of like okay, let's investigate this more deeply is that Mercury is very close to his Pluto, actually on this new moon. So the Mercury-Pluto conjunction, you have to wonder if something is revealed in the news about him, or even if it's like this sort of internal dynamic within his campaign where he reveals something to his aides, he reveals something to his aides, or something is revealed about his health, with the new moon very close to the position of the sun for the United States birth chart, we're talking about the identity of the nation right when it's aligned with the sun. So if there's a change in either the perception of the president or the candidacy of that president, that changes the actual perception and identity of the United States. Remember we also have Saturn-Neptune retrograde by this point. So I would kind of refer to the previous episode for the full meaning of that.
Speaker 1:But just to reiterate, there is a lot of questioning going on on a personal level level which you will, you will go through of like am I diluting myself in a certain area? Have I been lying to myself? Do I need to be more honest? Do I need to confront even like? Maybe it's a health habits or maybe it's just something about my daily life, maybe it's something about my mindset. But you're really just trying to get out of a fog right now and in Pisces there's a lot of exhaustion in the collective. So with these retrogrades, make sure you're giving yourself time to just kind of like be, just sit there with your thoughts and don't resist your thoughts, don't distract yourself from those more challenging thoughts that may come through, but it's like that inner voice and that dialogue. It's like there is a tough conversation you probably have to have with yourself and by having that you can actually problem solve instead of again evading or kicking the can down the road. So I think that there is a confrontation with the self right now and really breathing a little bit more truth into every aspect of your life in order to say, okay, now I have a more tactical approach to something that is still Piscean and it still has this sort of magic to it. That is still Piscean and it still has this sort of magic to it.
Speaker 1:So now I want to switch gears and start to talk about the fourth house, and the reason is because the fourth house has an affinity with the sign of cancer. So in the birth chart we have 12 houses and, similar to the zodiac signs, the 12 houses tell a cyclical story of how you're developing your identity yourself, your skill sets, how you're bonding with other people, how you're self-actualizing through the lens of your career, and then how you're really bringing society into a new era with your ideas. Once we get to the 11th house and then by the 12th house, we're starting to let everything go and surrender and allow for a new cycle to come in. And as I'm saying that, I just want to reiterate that it does feel like almost we're in a 12th house sort of era for the United States. I mean I think that's another good way to put it Like it does feel like we're just kind of like purging, releasing, detoxing, but it's like that cleanse, that purification of what's no longer working again, I think, holds a lot of promise for the future.
Speaker 1:So now, what I'm going to do, though, is I'm going to go through what the fourth house means, based on each rising sign. So if you're not familiar with, like, what sign do you have in your fourth house? Or I don't have any planets in my fourth house, so does this even matter? You know we'll track it based on the rising sign, so you have a reference point. So all you need is your rising sign to follow along with this part.
Speaker 1:And when we talk about the fourth house, it is an area of life. So each house of the birth chart is a domain. It's an area of life where the planets are either transiting through to activate that house. The planets are a conduit or a channel through which the energy of that sign, sort of acts. And if you don't have any planets in a house, you still have a sign that rules that house and that sign has certain characteristics, certain energies, certain traits. And then you would look to the planet that rules that sign and you would find that planet in your birth chart to get more detail on that house. So what I'm going to focus on is what it means when you have a specific sign in that house. So I'm not going to focus on the planets today, I'm just going to focus on, for example, what does it mean if you're a Capricorn rising in an Aries fourth house? Now, when we're tracking this today, I would also recommend using a whole sign house system because I find, personally, the whole sign house system to be more accurate than Placidus or other systems. And naturally, the fourth house would be the fourth sign from your first house. So, whether you have a Capricorn rising at 2 degrees or 29 degrees or 28 degrees, aries is the fourth sign from Capricorn. Therefore, aries would occupy your fourth house.
Speaker 1:And, to distinguish the fourth house from the IC, the fourth house is that area of life that speaks to your home, your property, your family, your ancestors, the caregiver in your household growing up, the caregiver could be the mother or father. The fourth house is typically associated with the mother, although I have found examples, plenty of examples, where it's reversed. And the fourth house is that in some respects it is your inner foundation, but it is not necessarily the most sort of private or hidden aspect of you, because that would actually be the IC. So the IC is actually a point in the sky and it is a chart angle, whereas the fourth house is just that domain of life that I talked about. So the IC is really marking the intersection of the ecliptic and the meridian at the lowest point below the horizon from your vantage point, wherever you were born. And because of that calculation, there is a symbolic meaning of the IC as being really the deepest roots of you, your ancestors, your family. But it's also the most private, hidden dimensions of who you are.
Speaker 1:And, based on the calculation, sometimes the IC actually does not fall in the fourth house. Sometimes it falls in the second house, third house, fourth house, fifth house and the sixth house as well. So you know, if you have the IC in a different house than the fourth house, then that means that part of your, like some of the influences growing up are really, you know, speaking to that house. So if you have the IC in the third house, the influences would be a bit more cerebral, potentially about. You know, maybe your family was very much like you know. You have a family of teachers or educators or writers or just intellectual people. If you have the IC in the fifth house, maybe there's a bit of a creative, an underlying creativity to your family, and in the fourth house it would be more sort of naturally attuned to that idea of family. So I just wanted to distinguish those two things.
Speaker 1:But the fourth house will still, of course, speak to most of those themes. It's kind of a Venn diagram, and so the fourth house can show you a lot about what your family is like. And that's important, right, because it can show you how you were conditioned, and you don't really choose how you're conditioned. But by understanding your conditioning you can sort of work with it differently and maybe overcome certain predispositions that you picked up that maybe aren't serving you well. You can actually develop more empathy for your family in a lot of ways. So we're going to talk about again what each sort of iteration of the fourth house is based on, the sign that occupies it. So, before I delineate the meaning of each combination of the signs and the fourth house, I want to remind you to subscribe to the podcast, give it a rating and a review that would really help us and get it out to more people and also subscribe to my sub stack. That's where you can get exclusive insights about new moons, full moons, global predictions and much more. And also be sure to follow me on my other social channels Instagram, tiktok, and also visit my website, evannethanielgrimcom, to get all of my content, which can include courses, and eventually I will be announcing my 2025 schedule for one-on-one readings. Right now, my 2024 schedule is fully booked, but I will be announcing 2025 in the near future.
Speaker 1:So let's start off with Aries risings. So I want to go through again. What are the characteristics of your upbringing, your family, your home, what kind of home environment do you seek, based on the sign that rules that house? And so I'm going to go in order from Aries to Pisces, and so Aries, aries rising. So, again when I go through this, refer to your rising sign. Aries risings.
Speaker 1:You have cancer in the fourth house, and cancer is naturally attuned to the fourth house environment, in which there is a bit more of an idyllic sort of family life, or it's a family life that maybe you are nostalgic for, because cancer very much rules the past, like memory, thinking about the past, and that can lead to a lot of nostalgia and typically there's a caregiver who is very maternal. Cancer has a maternal quality to it. Of course, it depends on what planets you have in the fourth house, depends on where your planets are in your chart. So, for example, if you had Mars in your fourth house in Cancer, that would create a bit more of a combative atmosphere at times, or an independent one where people are kind of on their own islands. You know, with that caveat in mind, but you know it's still very important to think about what that sign means because it will still really shape and fashion your fourth house.
Speaker 1:So for Aries, you know in theory you would have a family that you know is actually providing that nourishment, and so you may look to your family as a source of comfort or in your own home and the way you design it. If you're like I'm an Aries rising and I never got along with my family, again, that has a lot to do with the placement of your Mars actually as an Aries rising, but as you design your own home, I mean you really want your home to feel Cancerian, you want it to feel cozy, whatever your comfort looks like, really make sure that you're like, you're really feeling that, that comfort. You're bringing yourself comfort through those activities or through you know, making sure the items in your house have that sort of maybe even like lived in quality that can be very cancerian as well. I think, as an Aries rising, you can have like a very stable understanding of of home, like a very stable understanding of home. So I want to go now to Taurus, and as a Taurus you would have Leo in your fourth house and so what that speaks to and translates to is a family that can have this sort of creative flair to them. They can even be kind of proud of what they're doing and achieving and their creative accomplishments.
Speaker 1:But Leo doesn't always have to be like you know I'm surrounded by dancers and singers and actors and like improvisationalists you know, doing sort of little plays or something or playing games in the house Like it doesn't have to be, you know, that sort of Leonic. It could just be youic. Leo is the inner child in a lot of ways. So there could be a childhood where there is a parent who is very proud to be a parent and they are bringing out their inner child as they raise their children. So there can be this sort of jovial, vivacious quality and in that way it can almost be idyllic as well, but more from the sense of there's a lot of playtime, it's a lot of unstructured playtime. It just feels like recess, because Leo is kind of like that feeling of going out there and running around in between classes, and so having Leo in the fourth house also can mean that you want your home to provide a place for playtime, recreation, creativity, whatever that is for you. However, you like to have fun. You want to create a space for that in your house.
Speaker 1:Now there are stereotypical associations with Leo being opulent and extravagant and sure, maybe some Taurus Risings, they would have the nicest furniture, the nicest couch and it would all be like, maybe it would be kind of grandiose, they would have the gold-f, gold framed portrait of themselves or something, and they'd be like oh, like this. You know, I have this huge mural of myself and a huge mural of my family and it's like. You know it can be that way, but you know, if I'm thinking about, like you know, the whole population of Taurus Risings, like the most likely and the most practical advice here is, again, just to really make sure that you're nurturing your creativity and not letting go of that. And ideally, some of that sort of creative ambition was sort of given to you by your family. So now we have Gemini's Gemini Risings In Gemini Risings, you have Virgo in your fourth house.
Speaker 1:So with Gemini and Virgo both being ruled by Mercury, that will create a home environment that is orderly and organized and everything is sort of like there's a family environment. That's a little bit more, I know. It's a little bit more cerebral, it's more of a. There's more of an emphasis on like developing skills, like really niche skills, so like maybe you had a family member who was telling you like you have to practice, you know gymnastics, for you know, two hours a day, you have to play the violin, you know, and then do your homework, you know and and and so on. And I grew up in that type of environment because I actually have a Virgo IC.
Speaker 1:So the Virgo fourth house. There's some kind of structure, organization to the upbringing and it can be very demanding but it can also be very humbling, because Virgo is about really proving yourself through your skills and what you can do. So a Virgo fourth house, I think, yeah, I can have a really strong work ethic and sense of, you know, of service. Like that's what Virgo is. It's about service. So as a Virgo fourth house, potentially there were some family members who were a bit neurotic about details that like didn't really matter. Like you know, don't leave, like don't shower for more than 10 minutes, or you're going to waste the water, or like don't turn the thermostat, you know, above a certain amount so we save on heating bills and stuff like virgo fourth houses can kind of experience stuff like that. But ideally a virgo fourth house means that your internal foundation is very regimented. You prefer to move through your home in a very specific way, consistent way, and when you're in your home you're kind of like a drill sergeant, you know just doing the same thing every day and doing it in that discipline fashion to try to achieve that expertise and that excellence.
Speaker 1:So now we also want to go to Cancer Risings. And Cancer Risings you have Libra in your fourth house. So to have Libra in the fourth house, that is very balanced. I mean Libra is associated with balance and harmony and even like aesthetics. So a Libra fourth house I mean that can show you can speak to a family that has a sense of, you know, diplomacy, camaraderie, mutual exchange, trust, and there is a respect. There's like a mutual respect there with a Libra fourth house.
Speaker 1:And maybe there are parents or family members who they're not so reactive, they don't just like talk back to each other and insult each other. They're a little bit more like even even keel, but also maybe a little bit avoidant of conflict at times. And also this could be a family of artists or a family that is very interested in decorating their home a certain way. And so as you go through life, that type of conditioning will mean that you know, in your own home you may like to have enough, you like to have art on the walls or you like to have space for well, I mean you like to connect with people maybe. Or you like to have a partner that you're living with. I mean you're probably going to cohabitate with a partner if you have Libra on the fourth at some point, because that partnership is the give and take that literally speaks to Libra. It's like about one-on-one connection. So Cancer Risings ideally had some sort of I don't know demonstration of what a relationship looks like, an example of that growing up, even if the parents didn't stay together or there were some challenges there, ideally you still had someone in your life in your early life setting an example, example.
Speaker 1:And you know, I feel like with Libra and the fourth, the home is almost especially as a Cancer Rising. The home is a place of retreat and it should be a pretty satisfying place of retreat where it's like you know you're really rebalancing yourself. So now we have Leo Risings. And Leo Risings you have Scorpio in your fourth house and Scorpio is a very mysterious sign and whereas the fourth house is really looking for nourishment, scorpio is about power and control. So when you have Scorpio in the fourth fourth, there's a bit of a contradiction there.
Speaker 1:So typically a Leo rising will experience some family members who completely lack trust in others or their chief mission is to dominate others. So for Leo risings there is this contradiction where when you seek emotional support from a caregiver, it's not always provided and it's because the caregiver themselves they were probably raised in an environment where there was either a lack of trust again or even a lack of safety, and I just want to mention that with the fourth house. Remember this is our lineage, our ancestry as well. So whatever emotional dynamics we experienced growing up or dynamics of any kind, it's a byproduct of or even a continuation of a cycle. So many Leo Risings will have a parent that is not very nurturing, a parent that from some of the research I've done, like sometimes with Scorpio and even like Pluto energy tied to, like the moon or the fourth house, I've just noticed from my own research that even there could be a parent who is a narcissist or at least is very obsessed with personal power, whether that's financial, whether that's just being really fixated on their own thing, their own mission in life, and that doesn't really create always a selfless, nourishing type of environment.
Speaker 1:And sometimes, you know, for Scorpio, fourth houses, it's just there's a little bit of a secrecy or repressed energy in the household where maybe a parent works in a field like the government where they can't talk about everything or client privilege or something, or sensitivity. Talk about everything there is like or client privilege or something, or sensitivity. They're working with sensitive information, or maybe they're just emotionally repressed and they don't feel comfortable talking about something. But in either case, whether it's for the job or it's because you know if they're emotional immaturity or whatnot typically the individual. So you as a Leo rising you're not feeling that nurturing. But what I do like about this having Scorpio there is that does give you the ability to really read through people, because you were raised in that environment where not everything was being disclosed, there was a lot of concealment, and so a lot of Leo risings will have a psychic sense, they'll have x-ray vision.
Speaker 1:There is transformation in the fourth house with Scorpio so you can transform eventually your relationship to your family as you work through that. But one other thing I would mention is like Leo Scorpio combos sometimes can become almost obsessed with validation because in that fourth house they weren't really getting it, so they weren't receiving that validation. And that's kind of true sometimes with any kind of Pluto moon, like a Hades moon, pluto square conjunct opposite a moon. So once a Leo rising overcomes that feeling of like no-transcript Like once, if they're able and I'm not saying every Leo rising is like that, but if they're able to escape the shadow side of Leo, that's a sign that they have that full sense of self-worth and they can, like, fully transform that connection to their family. Now Scorpio is also finances other people's money. So Scorpio fourth house for Leo Risings maybe you invest in property at some point but you don't want to go into debt through that property because Scorpio is also debt.
Speaker 1:So now we have Virgo Risings and Virgo, you have Sagittarius in your fourth house, occupying your fourth house, and Sagittarius, you know it's a very adventurous sign, you know it's looking well beyond the home. So to have Sagittarius in the fourth is putting a nice unique twist on the fourth house. So maybe you were raised by parents who traveled a lot, or they came from another country or culture and they brought that culture to where they're living now, when they had you. Or it's just a place. The home is a place of learning, or there are teachers in the family, or there are family members who ask big questions, there are humorous, like really funny family members. I mean Sagittarius and Gemini are the funniest signs in the Zodiac and so, yeah, like, maybe there's just like a bit of a you know, a bit of a joy in the household and a feeling of we can all see the silver lining in things.
Speaker 1:Looking to travel, you're looking to explore, you're not satisfied with just being at home so you can find that sense of home in the outside world, so as a Virgo, continuing to feed that need for travel and intellectual exploration. And I guess the drawback of sometimes having Sag in the fourth is maybe you have family members who were almost like self-righteous about what they believed. Sometimes Sagittarius is religion and maybe you had to escape from an environment that was like overly dogmatically religious and, as you find your own home, you know, make it sagittarian. Maybe it's a home in a different country, maybe it's a home that borrows or reminds you of the places you've traveled, where you're bringing things back like refrigerator magnets, like you just have magnets of all the places you've been, and making sure that the home is allowing for the exploration again of like maybe you I mean this could apply to someone with Gemini in the fourth as well but you know, maybe you just have a lot of books or you know, yeah, you, you, you just have material that just sort of inspires you to think bigger and yeah.
Speaker 1:So I think you know, for Virgos, in a lot of ways, to have Sagittarius in the fourth, it can kind of, you know, sort of enliven the charts and you know, because sometimes Virgo risings will be a little bit more particular about something, but I think at the same time, toricorn in your fourth house and Capricorn is very militant and disciplined and Capricorn is all about tradition. So when you're a Libra rising, typically you may be surrounded by elders, like grandparents or a lot of people telling you how the world used to be or how it should be, and so it's a bit more of a conservative mindset in a lot of people telling you like how the world used to be or how it should be, and so it's a bit more of a conservative mindset in a lot of ways. But also there could be a parent who's, like, very well accomplished in their career. They're very, maybe like corporate. They set very clear goals and expectations for you. They say, oh, you're going to inherit the law firm or you're also going to be a doctor, so there's a sense of legacy with Capricorn.
Speaker 1:So, because the moon is in detriment in Capricorn, there isn't really that sense of nurturing all the time. It can be a sense of love and nurturing through discipline. So, like a parent may show that they care about you by having high expectations of you and telling you that you have to work really hard to get into that top 10 school, that top, that top 10 college, and through that sort of pressure, it's like they're trying to mold you in their image. So it's like, well, how could you not realize I love you? It's like I'm trying to create a mini me and it's like, well, that's not exactly an emotional way, it's not very emotive. So that can create a drawback where it's like the love is provided just from the structure, but otherwise the family can be a little bit cold towards the child.
Speaker 1:But again, there's plenty of Libra Risings who would say, of course, that the family is, you know, well-accomplished, but they still have that sort of yeah, they still felt like they had an emotional support system, still have that sort of yeah, they still felt like they had an emotional support system. And Capricorn can very much venerate the authority figure, the role model, the mentor, but in the fourth house you're venerating your family. So many Libra Risings they look to their family as well-accomplished and it's like they're to their family as well-accomplished and it's like they're proud of that. And in terms of the property that you end up buying or the home you end up living in, there's a longevity to it with Capricorn. Capricorn is time-bound and time-worn and battle-tested and it's robust. It's here to stay. So, libra Risings it's like, yeah, you're probably signing that long-term mortgage or you're living somewhere for a long time.
Speaker 1:Next we have Scorpio Risings. In Scorpio Risings, you have Aquarius. In your fourth house, there's a misconception about Aquarius, which is that it's an alien sign. It's a sign of aliens and bizarre things and it's like quirky and like nobody understands Aquarius, and that's not always true. Right Like we have two ruling planets of Aquarius, we have Uranus and Saturn, and so, with Aquarius, it can either be very responsible or it, yes, can be a little bit more unconventional and nonconformist, but it really depends on whether or not Saturn or Uranus are dominant in your chart.
Speaker 1:Scorpio Rising could have a family that is a little bit more communal, where there's a lot of family members. Aquarius is a collective, a community, and maybe some of these people aren't biologically related. Maybe it's like you have parents, friends coming by sometimes, or you have, you know, maybe it's cousins coming through, but there's like a bigger group. You have, you know, maybe it's cousins coming through, but there's like a bigger group, or there are many people at the home at any given time. Sometimes Aquarius is radical, rebellious. It's the energy of an activist, and so an Aquarius fourth house, you know, could be like this, could be a family that has sort of like very strong political ideals and ideologies or there is something.
Speaker 1:Yeah, there's some kind of humanitarian cause that they're vouching for, and Aquarius is also science, technology, so maybe a family member who is a scientist or an engineer, but with Aquarius there is something undefinable about it. So I would say for Scorpio Risings there is kind of a unique flavor there, but as an air sign Aquarius is very detached and so a lot of Scorpio Risings they were raised by family members who weren't necessarily that emotional. They're very much about it's a little bit more cerebral, it's about the ideas, it's about thinking about the future how can we improve something, how can we innovate on something? And it's always looking ahead and that sort of future focus, that future orientation, can be a bit strange, I think, for the child, and so the child is encouraged to explore novelty and I think in the long run that makes Scorpio Risings really interesting, because they attack problems from a different angle, because their parents taught them that again, unless there's a bit of a dogmatic political ideology usually in Aquarius' fourth house, and it's like there is this authenticity and there's this idea that you should chase whatever unique insights are coming through for you and just be that like individuate and separate yourself from the world around you, like you don't have to respond to the social conditioning, like Aquarius stands apart from the world around you. Like you don't have to respond to the social conditioning, like Aquarius stands apart from the society. So it's like not really allowing the environment to mold the individual completely. So Scorpio rising can actually kind of hold on to or develop this individuality over time and, as you you know, step into your own home life. There is something, there's some kind of unique quality to your home. You're just making it very characteristically you and idiosyncratically you.
Speaker 1:Now we have Sagittarius and Sagittarius you have Pisces in your fourth house and Pisces is a very compassionate and spiritual sign but also it's very emotional and at other times it can be not very you know, it's not very clear, like the perception is a little bit fogged up. So, as a Sag rising, your family may be rising. Your family may be ultra-compassionate, very sensitive to your needs, very giving, very loving, sacrificial, devotional, and there could be a history of family members who are spiritual, sometimes religious, but really we're talking about spirituality, with Pisces maybe a lineage, an ancestral line of healers, doctors and for all the other signs I've mentioned so far, like the characteristics of those signs in the fourth that does sort of typify your ancestors or speak to the sort of things they were doing and so on. So like just to go backwards for a second, like Libra Risings, a lot of times the ancestors may have, or recent family members may have, worked in government, which is very Capricornian, or worked within these massive corporations. But for Sagittarius there's a history of very spiritual people or people who are trying to heal others, but with Pisces being health in a lot of ways, maybe there was a family member that needed extra care or there was a family member who was sick or something, and Pisces can be a little bit delusional and deceptive. So maybe you idealize a family member. You don't see them clearly or the family member was prone to lying, but ideally there is a spiritual foundation, although Pisces, because it's so abstract, it doesn't always provide a clear. Obviously it's not really grounded per se, but maybe you were raised by dreamers. You know people who really you know they want to create some magic in their lives and so as you go through life you can create that spark and you can really think about, constantly reflect on your spiritual purpose and in your own home, make sure that it's a place where you can meditate and relax and just chill out.
Speaker 1:I think Sag Risings are among the most spiritual signs because of that, because their home is sacred, their home is a sacred space. Their home is sacred, their home is a sacred space. So a lot of Sag risings you may see, you know they have a, you know they have a area of their home with their sound bowls or their crystals or their sage Like. You know, that's a very Sag or that's a very Piscean thing in the fourth house. So now let's go to Capricorns.
Speaker 1:Capricorns, you have Aries in the fourth and that speaks to a family life that is very independent, sometimes a little bit more aggressive and prone to conflict, and you may have witnessed family members fighting with each other, disagreeing with each other, and also family members fighting with each other, disagreeing with each other, and also family members who kind of wanted to take the reins, who wanted to make the decisions, and you may have a parent who is a very standout entrepreneur and they actually lead by example and they're very much a maverick personality, they're kind of a trailblazer. But on the other hand, like I said, there could be this tension always bubbling up in the household, where you know you're not really witnessing the art of compromise. You know the opposite of a Cancer Rising. Whereas a Cancer rising is seeing how a compromise is sort of achieved, capricorn rising is just a little bit more of like I'm going to just exert my will and assert myself in order to get what I want.
Speaker 1:So Capricorn risings usually experience quite a bit of conflict there in the household, and so, as Capricorn risings go through life, they may seek to really set the tone of their home, even if they're living with someone, because, I would say, with Aries in the fourth, there can be this energy of people feeling a little bit agitated by the whole concept of cohabitation. So, capricorn Risings, I really think they like to at the very least have their own space in their home. So I think that people can get on your nerves a little bit more easily in the home. So make sure that you're either I mean, you don't have to live alone, but make sure that you have that sense of space. And if you are living with someone, though, don't take charge of everything, allow the other person to make some decisions, because I think with cap rising, a relationship could be just fine until you have to move in and all of a sudden it's like, well, I don't want to give up my autonomy, I don't want to compromise on, like, where the art goes, like that doesn't make any sense. So for cap risings, uh, you know, practice the diplomacy in the household, even if your family didn't demonstrate it or set an example with that. And uh, I think that with the fourth house, I think there's an entrepreneurial spirit within you that can help you a lot in your career.
Speaker 1:And I didn't talk about the midheaven or the tenth house today, by the way, but we'll save that for another episode. But the tenth house and the midheaven, in a lot of ways, is your vocation, your public calling your career, which is opposite the fourth house and the IC. And again, similar to how the IC and the fourth house are not equivalent, because the fourth house is an area of life, the IC is an actual calculation of the ecliptic and the meridian, the MC and the 10th house can be in different places. But anyways, just to illustrate that the midheaven is your vocation, the IC is your deepest roots. So now you have Aquarius risings, aquarius, you have Taurus in your fourth house and Taurus is a very stable sign and typically appreciates the natural world, tangible things, financial stability to some extent.
Speaker 1:But, as an Aquarius rising, the family growing up probably emphasized the need for financial stability, the value of things, and they probably provided some degree of comfort. I mean, of course, it really depends on the entire chart, but it doesn't, because it doesn't always have to mean, like you know, that it's financial, there's a lot of wealth or anything. It just means that there's some sense of stability and a groundedness in values and some kind of value system For Taurus, if it's, like you know, your parents really value the outdoors, like maybe you grew up near, you know, a hiking trail or a farm and, and that was your connection to the earth, maybe it was a valuing of money and financial success, and so you had parents who were in banking or they had lucrative jobs, or maybe, with Taurus being very creative, you had parents who are musicians, and so for an Aquarius rising, you know, having Taurus in the fourth, there is some. I think there is that sense of grounding and throughout your life you ideally uphold some of those values, but also your own, and Taurus is also about your natural talents and your self-worth. So I mean, I think Taurus in the fourth is pretty nice because you have a sense of you know. You ideally have some sense of self-worth through the lens of you know. Again, your parents in like showing you that you have value and that these things have value, and if you surround yourself with these things or you live out these values, then you're going to live this life. That is very, again, it's very consistent and there is a clear sense of self and a sense of what you can do innately, and so you want to carry that with you throughout your life.
Speaker 1:But in terms of the qualities of your home, you want to have a lot of. I mean, you'll have tangible goods in your home, but it's like those tangible goods like you're really drawn to them and they bring you a sense of comfort and also the home it has whatever you value in it, like. So if you value like really nice furnishings, you'd have that. If you value music, then you would have instruments around you. So for Taurus in the fourth, it's like you're translating all the things that you want, all the things you seek, you're bringing that into the home and you're seeing that on the physical plane. So it can be very stabilizing to have Taurus in the fourth. So now we have Pisces, pisces risings and Pisces.
Speaker 1:You have Gemini in the fourth and Gemini, the first sign, ruled by Mercury. It has this curiosity and so that will shape your family in a lot of ways as teachers, potentially educators, or just intellectually open-minded or curious, and Gemini is siblings. So I mean the third house is also siblings, but it could speak to a home where you have siblings or Gemini's neighbors. So maybe there are neighbors around, but Gemini is trying to really feed intellectual curiosity and Gemini's about reading, writing. So maybe there are some avid readers in the family, but Gemini's about language and communication. So you could have very communicative parents who are, you know they're reading to you every night as a child, who are, you know they're reading to you every night as a child and they're trying to teach you a lot about the world like a whole, like just a little bit of everything you know, just a range of facts.
Speaker 1:So, pisces Risings, you probably have a lot of random facts that you know about and you know as you go through life. And as you go through life. You want your home to continue that theme of. I know I talked about this for Virgo risings as well, but maybe it's like you have books, a lot of books, in your home and you're just giving yourself an outlet constantly to learn more if you want.
Speaker 1:And Gemini is very busy, very fast-paced, very hectic, as a sign. So, pisces Risings, you may enjoy a lot of variety in your home and you want a home that's maybe like allowing you to keep busy somehow. I mean, maybe the home is like I'm not saying this would be all Pisces Risings, but like maybe the home is even like situated in a place where there's a lot of comings and goings, like it's like near a neighborhood that has like a hustle and bustle to it. Um, uh. But but you know, you, you want to feel like in your home there's just, I don't know, always something going on. So maybe you have like you're multitasking. You have the TV on, you have the news on, you still get the newspaper delivered or something.
Speaker 1:So, pisces, your home is a funnel or an environment for all these new ideas. Really, and because your family gave you so much to work with there as Pisces rising, as you go through life, there's a lot that you can do with your life. I mean because in your home base you're just exploring so much intellectual territory and, as Pisces rising, maybe at some point your home would be a place where you would write a book, because Gemini rules that too. So that was just a rundown of what it means when you have a sign occupying a certain house, but of course the meaning will be even richer, with more detail, depending on if you have planets in the fourth, where the ruling planet of your fourth house is meaning the planet that rules the sign that sits on the cusp of that house and a whole host of other things. So hopefully, though, you got something out of that by understanding again the characteristics of the sign in that house and what it means for your family and your own home environment and your roots really.
Speaker 1:So, just to summarize, today you want to use this Cancer New Moon to really channel in a flow state, to allow for all kinds of spiritual epiphanies to come in. Allow for all kinds of spiritual epiphanies to come in, and I will also mention and outline sort of what to do for the new moon based on your rising sign and your sun and moon sign. So I'll have very detailed guidance in addition to that recommendation to channel and, you know, subscribe to my sub stack to get that content. And also be sure to follow me on all my other channels, and all my links are on evannethanielgrimcom, and I will be announcing my 2025 reading schedule in the near future, so stay tuned for that.
Speaker 1:And, yeah, I really think this new moon can be. It can really situate you in a really prominent or powerful position to help us all transition into this new era and this new identity. By the way, if you live in the United States, like it's a new, it is going to be a new version, a new rendition of the United States. I think there's a catalytic point here in that transition and in a future episode, I will talk about the full moon in Capricorn that follows this, which is at the 29th degree, so we're really dealing with some major endings here also coming up. But, yeah, I really hope you enjoy this new moon and I hope you also have a better understanding now of your birth charts and I will see you next week on the next episode and be sure to rate the podcast in the meantime. So I'm Evan Nathaniel Grimm and this is Astrology Unbound, take care.
