How to Set Powerful Intentions During the Unpredictable Leo New Moon

Evan Nathaniel Grim

This episode of Astrology Unbound focuses on the vibrant energy of the Leo New Moon happening on August 4th. Learn how sudden changes or awakenings might influence your love life and artistic projects, and uncover the hidden potential in these turbulent times. We'll also touch on the significant Jupiter-Mars conjunction squaring Saturn, offering a period of deep reflection and refinement of the philosophies and visions you've held since late 2020. With the Mars and Jupiter transit through Gemini, the power of communication is amplified, making it a perfect time for socializing or launching new writing projects.

Prepare also for the upcoming Mercury retrograde and its implications on key communications, ongoing projects, and new ventures. With Mercury stationing retrograde on August 4th, this episode discusses the importance of setting intentions cautiously and preparing for potential disruptions. I also highlight Mars' conjunction with Aldebaran which may intensify global conflicts but on a personal level can facilitate channeling.

Speaker 1:

Hey, there, it's Abinathaniel Grimm, and welcome back to the latest episode of Astrology Unbound. I hope everybody had a good weekend. Today I'm going to be covering the bright, radiant and ominous Leo New Moon. Before I begin, be sure to check out my Substack newsletter for an in-depth breakdown of my predictions for the globe, my step-by-step manifestation guides for each full moon, intention-setting recommendations for new moons, educational content and more. Now I do have a free subscription service through that newsletter where you can still access some of the overviews, highlights and key themes, while the paid service gives you a deeper dive into the horoscopes for each zodiac sign during all the major astrological events, like the new and full moons, mercury retrograde and more. And I do host a monthly call where you can ask me questions and we can talk candidly about the transits that are currently going on. So the topic of today, like I mentioned, is the Leo new moon. I'm going to get you ready for that new moon and also share my predictions at a collective scale, but I will also give you some tips for how you can really make the most of this new moon, which is in a very interesting position right before Mercury stations retrograde and the new moon is, by the way, on August 4th, and that's a Sunday, at 4.13 am Pacific time.

Speaker 1:

So first of all, what is a new moon? A new moon is the alignment of the sun and moon. It is a point at which the moon passes between the sun and the earth and at that stage we are planting a seed or an intention, because during a new moon you're not able to see or view the moon. So it is at this point where you can sort of fill that void with what you want to achieve and ideally, as the moon starts waxing during the hemicycle, as it leads up to a full moon approximately two weeks later, by that point you can fully embody those intentions that you set and you can manifest your desires, and it really is the incarnation of your desires. And at that point, also during a full moon, you can have major revelations that can really set you on a new course. But it's very important to use these new moons to again set your intentions and your wishes and ideally, to set those intentions in accordance with the planetary configurations and alignments, so that you're actually capitalizing on the sort of contours of these energies. Now just to understand what Leo is all about. First, some of you may be very familiar with Leo maybe you know many Leos in your life but, to break this down, leo is a fixed fire sign, so it is within the fire element and the fixed modality and, as a fire sign, it is drawing upon the yang masculine polarity.

Speaker 1:

Astrology is based on these principles masculine, feminine, yin and yang. So whenever I do readings, I track for a client what is the distribution of fire and air, which are masculine elements, and earth and water, which are feminine elements. And it's very important to understand that sort of bifurcation in astrology, because the masculine elements are really pushing the energy outward. They are more extroverted, buoyant, they are more likely to—they're more risk-loving. And then the feminine elements of earth and water are more so bringing the energy inward. They are more introspective, they are processing things internally, they are slightly more risk-averse as elements. Now, of course, in astrology there is no element that is better than the other. The entire concept underlying astrology is balance. So you have the sun and moon again masculine, feminine you have night and day, etc. Etc.

Speaker 1:

Anyway, so as a fire element, all three fire signs, as I conceive of it, are taking a risk of some kind. Now I know I said that, both fire and air being masculine elements, they are sort of reflecting that sort of risk-taking energy to some degree, although fire is more so our passions, whereas air has this sort of cerebral logic to it, sometimes a detachment, and it's more focused on interconnections, even relationships. So with fire signs it's more about this impulse to actually take a risk, and each fire sign is taking a different type of risk. So, aries being the first fire sign, aries is daring to be the first to do something, to take the lead. Leo is well, I'll say Sag next, just to lead into the Leo part. But Sagittarius, the third fire sign, is really taking a risk to explore the outside terrain, the world outside of the confines of its comfort zone, confines of its comfort zone and to open its mind to new perspectives. Now, leo is the fire sign that takes a risk to express itself creatively and it actually draws upon the natural talents of Taurus, the fixed sign preceding it. So Taurus does pertain to a number of things, but that includes our natural talents. And so Leo kind of picks up that story and says okay, based on what I'm innately gifted at, so let's say it is singing, whereas a Taurus may simply enjoy singing on their own, or they may enjoy the songs of someone else or listening to music and sort of allowing that music to enrich its experience.

Speaker 1:

A Leo will actually, you know, take the chance to get on a stage or get in front of an audience and, you know, just belt it out and, you know, sing that song and ideally get that recognition. But as they're singing, or before they're singing, it's like you don't really know what the audience reaction is going to be. You know it could be a total flop. You know the just like. You know, especially if you're singing a song like the national anthem, which is a very hard song to sing. So anyways, we and we've, and we've seen that right, like the national anthem, very difficult song to sing and like, just think about that feeling of like standing there at uh, you know, a sports game or something and having to do that Like just, even if you don't know how to sing, just like put yourself in that person's shoes and you know you might feel a little bit of a pain in your gut.

Speaker 1:

You're like I don't know if I can do this, but but that's really the energy of Leo is having the confidence to actually go through with that and saying, all right, I'm just going to share again what I can do with the world and, you know, come what may Well, I mean, we'll see if there's an applause and obviously the energy of Leo wants that positive reaction because Leo, you know, is ruled by the sun, it's putting itself at the center of things and so obviously you want that energy to radiate out and you want it to be well-received. But, either way, leo is actually sort of again putting itself in that suspended animation where it's, you know, again taking that leap of faith really and going through that sort of trial in a way. I mean, and as a Leo South node and Leo Jupiter and a fifth house, scorpio stellium, it's like I'm very familiar with the nature of Leo and so, you know, it is that feeling of I don't know if I go back to the age of like six or seven, when I started playing violin. I remember, um, I wanted to play the violin because, uh, this classmate of mine in kindergarten like played the violin at a, at show and tell, and I just like went home and I told my parents hey, like I want to play violin too. And honestly, I think my motivation for playing violin in the first place was because my classmate was also playing that instrument and I saw sort of again the recognition that he got for that and, like the six-year-old me was like, well, I just want to kind of be able to bask in that as well. And I think we can all relate to that feeling of like being a kid and wanting to.

Speaker 1:

Either, you know, and it can be obviously like a group activity, like recreational sports, like you want to go out and play during recess, but other times it's like no, I want to, I want to be able to do that also. So in that way, leo, you know, it is the passion to, yes, like you know, be seen, be recognized, but of course it's still, I think, grounded in the energy of Taurus, the fixed sign again before it, uh, which is, uh, speaking to, okay, the. These are the genuine gifts that I have. So, um, anyways, like anytime we're in Leo season and when we have a Leo new moon, specifically, it is very promising for you know, anybody to set intentions around, you know, launching some kind of creative hobby or project, or just reinvesting in something creative and something that just kind of activates that inner child thing, that just kind of activates that inner child. So, again, like this could. For you, this Leo new moon could be something to the effect of well, I veered away from my music or I veered away from sports, but I really enjoy these things consistently. So, okay, now I'm going to go join a team, I'm going to go play beach volleyball or whatever your passions are. And the answer should be right in front of you because, again, we're really cultivating these natural, innate abilities.

Speaker 1:

And the Leo new moon, by the way, is positioned at 12 degrees of Leo. So the reason I'm talking about the degree of the new moon is because this will help you understand the degree of, I guess. Well, no pun intended, but the degree of the impact on your chart. So if you have any significant placements within a few degrees of 12 degrees of Leo, we could say well, technically, an orb of influence for conjunction is 10 degrees, but in terms of a directly felt sort of impact, that's very personal to you. I think you would want you know a Leo placement between, let's say, nine and 15 degrees, then this would definitely heighten the impact of the new moon, but of course we're talking around nine to 15 degrees of anything in the fixed modality. So that would be, of course, also Scorpio and Aquarius and Taurus. But also even if you're like I don't know where my degrees are and or you know I don't have anything in those degrees of the fixed signs, then you know track your rising sign.

Speaker 1:

So refer to your chart. Hopefully you know your birth time, because you would need your birth time to actually understand your rising sign and your ascendant. But based on your ascendant, you will have a specific house of your birth chart that's actually ruled by Leo and occupied by Leo, and you should be using a whole sign system rather than a placidus system or something else. So I've noticed that the whole sign system is the most accurate, so I would recommend that. So, for example, if you're a Cancer rising, leo would occupy your second house, and your second house has a lot to do with natural talents, but also personal resources and assets and money and spending. And let's say you were a Virgo rising, then you would have Leo in your 12th house. So that would have a much more abstract sort of implication on your spiritual life and your connection to your karma, your past lives and so on, and even just sort of maybe meditation, meditative practices.

Speaker 1:

So anyways, that's all to say that everybody will have an opportunity to set intentions for this new moon. It's just that the impact is especially potent if you have placements, again, approximately between 9 and 15 degrees of the fixed signs and, by the way, with my newsletter, I'm going to be disclosing how to actually set intentions according to your rising sign. But you can theoretically also set intentions according to your rising sign. But you can theoretically also set intentions according to your sun and moon signs. This is because the houses have an affinity with aspects and vice versa. So I've talked about that a lot on my YouTube channel and other channels. But if you, let's say, are an Aries sun, for example, then this Leo new moon is an opening trine to your Aries Sun and the opening trine is similar to the fifth house, meaning an Aries rising and an Aries Sun would both have an opportunity to set an intention according to fifth house energies, even though only one of those placements actually has Leo in the fifth house.

Speaker 1:

So let's start to talk about some of the defining characteristics of this Leo new moon and what is really jumping out to me as an astrologer when I look at the chart. So, leo, I feel like you know, I've laid the groundwork already. This is again, no matter what aspects are going on, a Leo new moon is a time to really, you know, set a new course in your, either with your creative side or even with Leo being our sense of romanticism. You could also decide to bring more joy into your life. You could commit to bringing more joy in your life through adding some romance into your life and maybe going on more dates and connecting with people. In that way, you could just be again reigniting this sort of creative, passionate flame through all kinds of creative hobbies. So Leo speaks to the concept of cultivating your inner child, your inner joy, but it can also literally represent children. So maybe during this Leo new moon, if you're a parent, you invest more time into your children. Now I want to start to dig into the other aspects, though. So everything I've spoken about related to Leo and the energy of Leo. That would sort of hold true on any Leo new moon in theory.

Speaker 1:

But now to point out some of the either anomalies or sort of defining characteristics and special qualities. The first thing I'm noticing is that Venus, the planet of harmony and love and balance, is squaring off with Uranus, and Uranus is the great awakener and it can bring sudden changes and upheaval into someone's life. So Venus is actually starting to leave that square behind. So Venus is actually starting to leave that square behind. It's a little bit more concentrated and intense in the days leading up, but still Venus is square Uranus, so I don't necessarily think of that as inherently positive or negative just because Uranus brings the unexpected and it sort of randomizes things and scrambles things up.

Speaker 1:

But you could harness this energy to socialize with a group of people, whether that's in person or online. Uranus does rule technology and social media. So maybe you are forming a really unique online connection during this Leo new moon, or maybe you literally go to a party or a social event and also, with Venus square Uranus, maybe some people would change their position or perspective on a relationship and again, that's not necessarily good or bad, um, although you know, venus is in conjunct to Neptune at the same time. So I could see how people may be feeling a little bit confused or lost or aimless regarding a relationship. They're not exactly sure how they feel about somebody and Uranus is kind of causing a little bit even more chaos in that domain, causing a little bit even more chaos in that domain, and maybe some of you will feel even in this Neptunian sense, like you've been deceived or lied to by someone, and Uranus comes in with that square and it's like, oh wow, I just found this out and I don't know how. How is that going to change the dynamic of my relationship with somebody?

Speaker 1:

But on the positive side, when Neptune and Uranus are both involved with Venus by any aspect, I think in some ways, I think that there is a creative force here behind it. So if you wanted to maybe change up your wardrobe or you wanted to start a creative writing project or you wanted to, even with Neptune having such a mass media sort of archetype attached to it or associations with, like television and film, maybe you would start to write some kind of, you know, film script and it could be I mean, you could be as serious or unserious as you want with it. But the reason I'm talking about writing is also because Mars and Jupiter continue to transit their Gemini and Gemini is a Mercury-ruled sign. That is very much about writing and communication and Gemini is highly expressive in this realm. Gemini's oftentimes have the most robust lexicon and Geminis love to.

Speaker 1:

There's no shortage of you know opinions or you know thoughts that a Gemini could share. You know, I have a Mars Gemini natally and you know, sometimes I'll just get this random inspiration to write an entire novel and I'll, you know, write it over the course of two months and then nothing at all for years. But you know, typically if you talk to people with Gemini placements whether it's Mars or Mercury or the Sun or, you know, the Moon there is the sort of love of language and the love of wordplay and sort of an admiration of clever word choice and, anyways, we can all kind of cultivate that sort of inner, that sort of like communicator within us, that writer, and there's a lot that you could share right now. And for some people maybe you're just like getting things off your chest in an actual conversation with someone, because I do think Mars-Gemini can empower us to speak our minds, sometimes to a detriment, but if you'd rather commit this to paper, you can absolutely do that as well.

Speaker 1:

And we even have Jupiter and Gemini to really augment the power of Mars and Gemini. Jupiter is kind of egging Mars on, jupiter is saying no, we want more of that, we want more information, we want more communication, we want more socializing. And so really allow yourself to, I think, on this new moon, allow yourself to explore the full spectrum of communication sorts of projects that you could sort of start or initiate at this time. And, you know, combined with Venus square Uranus. You know, maybe this is as small, as you know, you're just attending a party and of course that would be totally fine. You know, not every new moon is going to be this sort of life-altering experience, but of course it could be if you want it to be. But if you're kind of tapped out right now and you're like, hey, I'm just in a holding pattern, I don't really know what I want to do, then yeah, I mean, you know, use this to socialize and connect with others or, again, to get your thoughts down on paper.

Speaker 1:

Some other aspects that are jumping out to me is the Jupiter-Mars conjunction, but starting to square Saturn, and this is the first major aspect between Jupiter and Saturn since the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction, december 21st 2020, at zero degrees of Aquarius, which is where Pluto is right now. So a lot of the ideas, ideals, philosophies you started to sort of coalesce around or develop in late 2020, when I'm sure you had plenty of downtime to radically change your perspective on many things, whatever, again, belief system or philosophy or vision you established nearly four years ago is now starting to be tested, scrutinized, confronted and hopefully refined, and hopefully refined. So this could be again anything that was cropping up in your life in late December of 2020 or early January 2021. So I would actually reflect on that if I were you at this time, like, is there some maybe even around then, just coincidentally or not, like you were starting to create something new. With that downtime, with that unstructured time, maybe suddenly you did start writing a book, maybe you just were letting your imagination carry you into some kind of new realm and now you're finally ready to translate that to an actual, again written, work.

Speaker 1:

But for others, maybe your philosophy is being tested right now, or something like that, or your view of the world is changing, and so, with Mars and Jupiter, square Saturn, I wonder if this could also set up some impediments or roadblocks if you're trying to travel. I talked about that extensively on my YouTube, by the way, so I'm not going to go into that fully. But Mars and Jupiter, I think, together have this adventurous, explorative kind of attitude about life, and so maybe some of you want to take a road trip during this Leo, new moon, or you want to travel abroad or something, and that's completely fine. But with the Saturn square, there may just be some annoyances or nuisances. You know back where you live regarding work. Maybe your boss is trying to call you, or maybe you know, yes, some family member continues to call you and ask questions and ask you to come back early to help them. I mean, it can kind of have that sort of feeling of like you're being tugged back by Saturn.

Speaker 1:

And in other cases, though, just to kind of go back to the writing aspect, if you were to start writing a book or try to even finish writing a book, you know Saturn can really help you edit and refine that work. Right now, and if you hold certain spiritual belief systems that maybe you've really cultivated and nurtured over the past couple of or Hinduism or astrology or anything like that, you know Saturn may be asking you again to really, you know, prove that you understand these things. And so you may be asked, in even just some sort of informal setting, to demonstrate that sort of expertise or that knowledge or that know-how around some sort of informal setting, to demonstrate that sort of expertise or that knowledge or that know-how around some kind of philosophy or belief system, and I wouldn't be surprised if many people actually have just sort of free-form debates about some sort of high falutin philosophical concept around this new moon. But to bring this back to the Leo energy and how this mixes in the Mars, gemini, jupiter, gem, jupiter-gemini plus the Leo-New Moon and, by the way, in a sextile aspect, both of these and actually now that I'm really looking at the charts consistently I've just kind of been looking at this screenshot for the last few minutes, I've just kind of been like looking at this screenshot for the last few minutes I am noticing that the Leo new moon is actually at the midpoint of the Mars-Jupiter conjunction, so it's at the midpoint of Mars and Jupiter, I should say, because we do have Mars at 9 degrees, of Gemini, jupiter at 15 degrees and the Leo new moon is at 12 degrees, so three degrees of separation on either side, and the Leo new moon is at 12 degrees, so three degrees of separation on either side, and that, I think, enhances the sort of positive connotations of this new moon. So, with Leo and Gemini, it actually fortifies, I think, the opportunity to again start that book or that podcast or that blog or that, or just start journaling more often.

Speaker 1:

Um, and if you're not a writer, you have no interest in that. Then open a dialogue, a creative dialogue with people. Um, have some friends over and, you know, uh, try improv comedy, I don't know just like throw a topic out there and just see how you, how you all, play around with that topic. Um, or, I know I talked about this last week on my podcast, but even for this new moon, you could just kind of venture around your local neighborhood and just sort of experience the magic of it and find a new cafe or bike around, walk around, run around and I know a lot of you are probably traveling abroad right now or even as you listen to this podcast, no-transcript and so build in extra time to, you know, anticipate those delays. And also, you could argue, this is actually one of the biggest factors is that Mercury will actually station retrograde later that evening. So that is begging.

Speaker 1:

The question, which is one of the biggest questions I think that needs to be answered on this podcast episode, is the question of whether or not you could set intentions. To begin with and I'll walk through why I think the answer is yes, but it does. It's, it's a, you know, it's a valid question, because Mercury, again, it's going to station retrograde and it's actually it's technically going to station at 9 56 PM Pacific time Pacific time, so about 15 hours or so after the new moon. And the reason that this can complicate your intentions is because, as Mercury retrogrades really throughout this lunation cycle, mercury retrograde does compromise. Sometimes our decision making, our interpretation of information can be sort of scrambled up, like we can misinterpret things, and you know, that does, I think, call for caution at the very least.

Speaker 1:

But just to quickly go down this side street of Mercury retrograde just to explain this, I mean we are on the verge of another Mercury retrograde and you know, remember, mercury is the messenger of the gods, the ruling planet of communication, transportation, commerce and more. And you know it's going to be retrograde from August 4th to 28th. Now don't freak out about it, obviously, because Mercury naturally retrogrades about three times per calendar year, sometimes four due to its orbital period of just 88 days, and so each time it begins to lap the Earth, there's an optical illusion where Mercury appears to be moving backwards and Mercury rules over our day-to-day activities and conversations and within that context it's really connecting and interpreting things. It's helping us connect our own ideas together, it's helping us connect with other people. It's helping the internet connect information and transfer data and information across the world. So each retrograde phase of Mercury is actually an opportunity to kind of revisit decisions that we made quickly, projects we never finished and valuable conversations that we overlooked while the planet was direct during the prior three months or so. So, again, no reason to fear it, but it does necessitate adjustments to your thought process and behavior. So here's some quick do's on Mercury retrogrades Do expect travel delays.

Speaker 1:

Do proofread important communications, back up your files and digital assets, anticipate some technical glitches. Hold off on major contract negotiations if possible. Hold off on massive purchases, if possible. Direct your attention to ongoing but unfinished projects. Hold off on launching a major project from scratch and close the loop on certain situations and conversations. So where is Mercury going to retrograde? It's going to station at 4 degrees of Virgo and then, by the way, during the full moon in Aquarius, two weeks later, it will be at 26 degrees of Leo and it will keep going backwards all the way to 21 degrees of Leo, where it will station direct on August 28th.

Speaker 1:

And what I find interesting is that, well, first of all, the new moon technically occurs before the retrograde and when a planet stations, you know it slows down, it grinds to a halt again, just through the optical illusion of it. But I think that anytime a planet stations, it does really hold a lot of power and weight in our consciousness. So when Mercury stations, that principle still applies and it actually can. As Mercury slows down sort of, I think in some cases it can actually sharpen our focus or our attention and our processing of information. Now, of course, that changes very quickly as it retrogrades, but while it is still direct, I still think that you know there's actually an opportunity there, while Mercury is starting to station, to really take a good hard look at something that maybe we were moving too quickly on. So you know again, but I still don't think that answers the question though, of like can we start something new on a new moon?

Speaker 1:

So to kind of dig into this a little bit further, based on the research I've done about this particular lunation cycle, the fact is that there is a Mercury-Kazemi the day before the full moon, which is really the climax of the cycle, right when you want to bring your intentions into reality. So at that time, just having a full moon the day after this inferior conjunction of Mercury and the sun which, by the way, a Kazemi is that alignment of Mercury and the sun which is the midpoint of the retrograde, essentially. And it is a moment where we have a lot more clarity within our minds and we can sort of see the best course of action, we can understand and connect all these disparate variables or we can come to a very decisive conclusion about something. And so the fact that the full moon is happening right after the Kazemi, plus the fact that Mercury is still direct during the new moon and actually stationing, gives me the confidence to say that, yes, you can set intentions, but on the grounds that, number one, you prioritize finishing something. Number two, you move carefully and cautiously and, number three, that you scenario plan so you have an alternative plan if Uranus shakes things up.

Speaker 1:

Now, why did I mention Uranus? Well, it's because the Aquarius full moon on August 19th is squaring off with Uranus and Uranus rules Aquarius. So that's very, very powerful, but also potentially shocking. So, because of that square, you really shouldn't fully expect your intentions to manifest in the way that you think, shouldn't fully expect your intentions to manifest in the way that you think. So that, I think, begets and necessitates a totally different strategy than usual. So it's like, let's play to that archetype of Uranus and think outside the box, and so I think there's a way to do that again, by setting an intention around something that is within a certain ballpark of possibilities.

Speaker 1:

There's a certain realm of possibilities that you want to sort of swim in, where it's like okay, I know that I want to reignite my creative project or my writing project, and I know that I want to invest more in my music or something, and I know that these are the people I want to play music with, or I know that this is the topic I want to write about. So you're starting to add detail on it and I think you can continue to do that. But just know that by the full moon, there is this possibility that some sort of Uranian event could unfold for you, which doesn't have to be bad, right? So if you're trying to write the book about XYZ, maybe on that full moon, uranus actually feeds you some kind of like genius insight about it, or you have that epiphany of like, oh, what if the character actually does this?

Speaker 1:

Or if you are, you know, trying to play more music or something, again, you have to allow for the unexpected. You have to make room for the unexpected and accommodate Uranus in your intention settings, which is something I will provide on my newsletter for each sign. So I'm not going to go through the individual impact for each sign on this podcast, but just again, um, at a thematic scale, you're going to have to, um, again, really anticipate some degree of either randomness or maybe a little bit of upheaval even. But, um, I think if you scenario plan, meaning you have a secondary plan if something else goes wrong or if something else changes, then yeah, I think this could be actually a really powerful lunar cycle for you. So, again, the verdict here, just to be really clear about this I do believe you can set intentions as long as you adhere to some of those sort of caveats that I mentioned.

Speaker 1:

And I'm not going to talk about the Aquarius full moon on this episode. I'm going to cover that in a future, in probably about two episodes from now. But that Aquarius full moon is definitely, again, very hard to gauge because that square root of Uranus is exact and Uranus rules the full moon. So, anyways, before I continue because I do have other aspects to talk about and predictions to make, be sure to subscribe to that Substack newsletter. That newsletter I already have an archive of almost 60 posts and articles and videos. Just by subscribing you do get access to all the past content and that includes an energy-clearing ritual from the Libra eclipse in March. That includes some educational posts, also a track record of all my predictions, also the transcripts of my monthly YouTube videos and so on. And then again, remember, there's those monthly calls where you can, you know, sort of ask me questions and pick my brain about the astrology of now and the astrology of the future.

Speaker 1:

So I want to close off by talking about a bit more of the well, some other aspects that jump out to me about this new moon, but also some global implications, well, some other aspects that jump out to me about this new moon, but also some global implications. So something that really stands out is Mars' alignment with Aldebaran, and that is a fixed star, ominous sort of feeling. There. Mars conjunct Aldebaran has coincided with a number of major turning points in wars, especially, again, religious wars or wars that are somewhat religiously motivated, religious wars or wars that are somewhat religiously motivated. So, with Mars, mars's alignment here on the Leo new moon, I do, and I did talk about this on my YouTube, but I just want to reiterate it here. I do see an escalation of conflict in the middle East and actually right before I filmed this podcast, uh, I saw that, um, you know, turkey was sort of like discussing the possibility of some kind of incursion into Israel. They didn't actually confirm that they would do that, but it just feels like there is definitely obviously some tension bubbling up there, and that was a couple of days after I had sort of foreseen that over on my YouTube channel. So, yeah, definitely there is something, I think, brewing there.

Speaker 1:

Other aspects about this, leo, new moon that stand out to me with the Mars conjunction though Mars Aldebaran, in my own primary research of this aspect, it does allow for channeling or stream of consciousness writing. So, on a personal level, to bring it back to that, I do think that you could use it to your advantage in that way. Other things to note with this new moon, though, mars and Jupiter square Saturn in Pisces, I do think that there could be some kind of news story about like contaminants in like some kind of body of water, like a lake or a river or a local municipality. I've actually been seeing some news stories about this in my hometown, where I'm traveling right now, of Minneapolis, like there was some kind of story about that and then I saw it on the news, on the national news as well, elsewhere. So I'm just getting some pings that contaminated water may come up as a theme and I think London had something like that, some kind of fiasco with that, a few months ago. But I could see that. I could also see. Just to quickly zip through some of these other predictions for the Leo new moon, I could see some again major travel delays because of inclement weather and that could be rain, that could also be wildfires, and because the Aquarius full moon two weeks later squares Uranus, I mean you have to wonder about earthquakes or something of that nature. But so you do again want to build in some time for travel delays.

And then, with Mercury technically retrograding in Virgo and Leo, just to share more insight about that, you could be certainly reassessing your health practices, daily routines with Virgo and you know you could even optimize a process. So you know I was even thinking about that today. Ever since Mercury went into Virgo, I've been thinking a lot more about okay, well, how can I drive efficiency with the way that I make content and videos in a way that I actually haven't before. So I think that's you know. You can apply that to your own life. So, literally, you know how, yeah, how can you be more strategic about how the way you start your day, the way you end your day, how you, you know what is the cadence of your work, projects and so on. And then, when it retrogrades back into Leo, you could be reflecting on, you know again your romantic life, like how do I infuse a little bit more romantic energy into my life? Or how do I pick back up some of these creative hobbies?

Speaker 1:

And as I'm continuing to look at the Leo new moon chart, you know Venus is pretty close to Regulus, even though Regulus recently shifted into Virgo. Zero degrees of Virgo, I mean, it's about a degree off. So with Venus conjunct Regulus, mars conjunct Aldebaran, maybe, well, with Regulus, we do think about kings and queens and royalty. So maybe there are world leaders are bickering with each other, especially with that Mercury-Mars square, by the way. So I kind of see like there's some fighting words here between you know, presidents of prominent countries, like we saw with Turkey today. So even with Jupiter square Saturn, I do think there is some kind of idea here of, like religious faith being tested and people trying not everybody, of course, but like certain groups or factions trying to coalesce around a certain belief system and faith-based system. You know, I could definitely see how that would start, continue to intensify during this lunar cycle. So those are just some of the predictions.

Speaker 1:

Again, the YouTube video that I have, which you can access, by the way through, evannethanielgr predictions. Again, the YouTube video that I have, uh, which you can access, by the way through, evan Nathaniel grimcom, that dives a lot deeper into the global predictions. Um, cause I did also see some things with like the uh, the aviation industry, uh, potential respiratory illnesses and so on. But, um, you know, I just wanted to highlight some other, you know, dimensions of the new, of the new moon today. Oh and sorry, one more thing With this full moon that we're leading up to, venus will be opposing Saturn. So just keep in mind that, in terms of where we're headed in this lunation cycle, the Venus-Saturn opposition could help you attract some kind of professionally beneficial relationship, so like if you're trying to further your career, especially in a creative field.

Speaker 1:

I actually kind of like that full moon, like someone could come out of nowhere with a project proposal or they could sign, you know, sign a contract with you. I know it's mercury retrograde at that time, but the full moon follows a kazemi pretty closely, so around august 18th, 19th, I do think some people could push some contracts through. So that's again why I say, you know, go ahead, set intentions on the new moon and again, watch out for the newsletter which will explain the sort of personalized, sign-based intention setting practices that you should apply. But in other cases that full moon could, could bring about some, you know, major, major changes in other types of relationships, which I will talk about next or in about two episodes, I believe. So anyways, to summarize the episode today, you know the Leo new moon is very powerful if you want to plug back into a creative project or process, if you want to reignite your romantic life. It's also promising for that.

Speaker 1:

There is an improvisational quality with Gemini and also a way in which you can filter this creative energy through some kind of communications and endeavor, whether that's a book or a story or journaling or improv comedy or just, you know, really fun, lively communication with others. So that is, I think you know those are some of the fundamental themes, but again, refer to your Sun, moon and Rising sign to actually gauge the specific intentions that you would set, which I will have in my newsletter, venus Square. Uranus does support kind of quirky, unique social activities and maybe some technology investments. I know it's Mercury Mercury's about to retrograde, but I still think that some people could make some technology investments, especially if it helps their creative process or something. But Uranus is a lot about group activities, so I think a lot of people on this Leo new moon will, will will do something fun in a group, so that's great and um and so anyways, just to finish this off in terms of, like, how to set intentions, though, generally, like what are the ground rules?

Speaker 1:

You can set intentions on this new moon so long as you prioritize finishing something, so long as you move carefully and cautiously and that you scenario plan so you have an alternative plan if Uranus upends things two weeks later. But also welcome that energy of Uranus and I will explain how you can actually accommodate Uranus in your intentions on my newsletter.
