Speaker 1:

Hey, there, it's Evan Nathaniel Grimm, and welcome to the latest episode of Astrology Unbound. Today, I'm going to reveal the hidden meaning of this upcoming solar eclipse in Libra on October 2nd. Before I begin, though, be sure to check out my Substack newsletter for an in-depth breakdown of my predictions for the globe, my step-by-step manifestation guides for each full moon, intention-setting recommendations for new moons, educational content and more. Now, I do have a free subscription service through that, where you can access the high-level themes, but I also have a paid service where you can also access the horoscopes. You can also access a call with me every week where I do live birth chart readings, and there's also a whole lot more through that package.

Speaker 1:

So let's jump in to the big event of the week. This is the solar eclipse in Libra, at 10 degrees of Libra, by the way, and this is a major event because we are talking about an eclipse, and eclipses definitely redefine our life path. In many cases, they close one chapter, they begin another, they are new, or full moons on steroids, as many astrologers say, and that's because the north and south node are involved in an eclipse. The south node has a lot to do with our karma, past life actions. The north node is tied to our soul's potential, evolutionary potential, our destiny, our dharma, and in this case we're dealing with a south nodal solar eclipse, which definitely makes this again sort of an ending and a beginning. So when we're talking about a solar eclipse, we are talking about a new moon Again. It just happens to be within a certain proximity to either the north or south node to count as a solar eclipse. And during a solar eclipse, the moon is in between the sun and the earth and partially or fully blocking the sun's light. Now, in this case it's an annular eclipse, so you're still going to see a ring of fire, the sun, around the moon, but it will be blocking much of the sun's light.

Speaker 1:

And a new moon, of course, typically denotes a beginning and you're setting intentions and you're setting a new course. But because the south node is also aligned with this new moon, this solar eclipse, we are also being called to reflect on the things that we want to overcome, the patterns that we want to let go of, the assumptions that we want to stop making, just in general, the cycles that we are meant to break out of. So when we think about, again, a typical new moon, we are planting a seed, but in this case, because it's an eclipse, it is slightly out of our control. It's not that we can't try to aim towards some kind of directional intention, but it's very unlikely that we're going to be able to anticipate the exact sort of outcome. We don't necessarily know what it is that we're creating, but we know that we are resetting some energy here. We are cleansing, purging and transitioning again into a new chapter.

Speaker 1:

So let's also talk about the nature of the sign of Libra, though. So let's remember, this is happening in Libra at 10 degrees. So if you have, first of all, before I get into that if you have major placements between 5 and 15 degrees of the cardinal signs, which would be Libra, aries, capricorn, cancer, then this eclipse will have an even more profound impact on you personally than it would for someone without those placements. So, either way, let's go into the meanings of Libra here. So some of the key concepts of Libra include the concept of trust, balance, harmony, mutual exchange, relationships, cooperation, tactfulness, agreements and contracts, and you'll notice that there's a very interpersonal association with Libra, and Libras are trying to create balance, sometimes through art as well and aesthetics. I notice a lot of Libra risings, or Libra placements tend to be photographers or sound designers or interior designers, and you know that's because Libra has that sort of understanding right of how to create very tasteful contrast in something. So Libra is an energy that I think a lot of people misunderstand. By the way, because you know there are stereotypes of every sign online and the stereotype of Libra is that you know they are always just trying to please other people and they're never thinking about really just their own needs. They're just like creating some kind of persona in order to balance that relationship. But I don't really think that that's. I mean, that's obviously not the ideal form that Libra wants to take.

Speaker 1:

Think about Libra as you know well, first of all, it's a Venus ruled sign and it's carrying forward the story of Venus when it was in Taurus. So Venus rules Taurus and Libra, and when it's in Taurus, we are talking a lot about our own self-worth and the value that we place on not only material things and goods, but like again ourselves, because it is the second zodiac sign following Aries, which is a fire sign that is just launching forward, like Aries is very much just acting on instinct, drive and will, and then we get into the zone of Taurus and suddenly we have a sense of our material needs, our survival needs, but we also place again sort of a value on ourselves. I mean, I think we do develop our sense of self-worth and our natural abilities and talents and our values through the sign of Taurus. So ideally, by the time you get to the second Venus sign, you've already, you know, established what you're gifted at and what you're worth, and you know that means that you're coming into a relationship, a contract negotiation, you know, some kind of compromise, not by compromising yourself, but by actually standing in this, like standing on this sort of footing and having this footing of a very clear sense of self, a clear sense of identity, a clear self-awareness. So Libras, ideally, are constantly aware of themselves, of what they seek to gain out of this negotiation, and they do look for win-win situations, sometimes, yes, to a fault, and that's where they need to borrow from the Aries side of that axis of Libra and Aries to lean into their independent drive and their needs. But if you actually think about the evolutionary path of Venus, venus has already gone through Taurus by the time we get to Libra. So ideally, there is still like a sense of like individual will and dignity and self-worth and, especially with Taurus, actually clear values. So, as long as you're so, as long as we're coming into an interpersonal situation with a clear sense of what we need and what we want and what we value, then I don't think that we have to sacrifice who we are or compromise ourselves.

Speaker 1:

We achieve a compromise by listening. Libras, ideally, are listening. They're listening to the other person, they're listening to their needs and they're meeting. Maybe they are meeting halfway, but I think that we realize sometimes in those situations that it is a win-win though when both people can walk away with something. So, anyways, that's like the general nature of Libra, and I want to sort of focus back in on this eclipse though.

Speaker 1:

So, in terms of the aspects on this eclipse, I already talked about how it's at 10 degrees of Libra, but we also, you know, we want to track the position of Venus on this eclipse and Venus is at 11 degrees of Scorpio and you know Venus is in its detriment in Scorpio, by the way, but I think it's totally fine here because it is seeking depth. So, while we're sort of focusing on relationships during this eclipse, we're focusing on, potentially, negotiations, contracts, agreements, compromises. Venus and Scorpio can maybe find a financial angle out of something. So maybe some of you are signing contracts that have, maybe, a financial value attached to them, but in other cases, you are plunging into these new depths with someone who you maybe have been dating or whatnot. And Venus is trining Saturn and Mars during this eclipse.

Speaker 1:

So some of the changes that you make in relationships or the things you reflect on in relationships can help you achieve, maybe, long-term success with a partner, but fundamentally, this eclipse will encompass and implicate some significant relationship in your life, whether that is like again a romantic partner, professional partner, business associate or a significant friend. You are going to be looking at, I think, your relationships a lot differently after this eclipse, but it is not necessarily a complete shock, because we had a solar eclipse in Libra last fall as well, october 14th of 2023. So I think we've familiarized ourselves with the North and South Nodes positions in Aries and Libra by now. So, whereas last October may have been more of a surprise for you, maybe you lost a relationship, maybe you let go of one this time around, I think you can ideally harness the better qualities of Libra and reach an agreement, whether that is financial or it's more in a personal relationship sort of setting, but with Mercury also involved. You know this follows very closely just a couple of days after a Mercury Kazemi, like we should ideally have a clearer perspective actually on our relationships. You know, we should be able to find the through line across all of our relationships, all of our significant ones in the past, and realize okay, this is the pattern I've always been stuck in, these are the cycles I keep going through and I have lost my tolerance for it.

Speaker 1:

And, speaking of that, this is an eclipse for honesty. One of the rules of thumb here is to not lie to yourself. Like, don't lie to yourself. This is that is something I think that Libras can do sometimes. The Libra energy sometimes will lie to itself in order to strike that compromise. But remember, the North Node is an Aries, so our evolutionary potential is all contained within the sign opposite, libra, right now. So you know, don't lie to yourself. Be honest with yourself about what you need and then advocate for those needs in one of these relationships I'm talking about, which is very much an Aries type of activity.

Speaker 1:

So being decisive is important right now, being transparent and honest, like I said, and approaching any negotiation right now or relationship with a certain unwavering nature right now, or relationship with a certain unwavering nature and vocalizing, articulating to, let's say, your partner that you, yeah, will no longer tolerate something, that you've noticed their lack of decisive decisiveness on something, or you've noticed how they continue to regress and move and work and move backwards with something. So call these things out. You want to call these things out in order to really just show them the partner and the universe that you have a sense of self-respect and that you can set boundaries and that you won't tolerate anything and everything. And then you're going to breathe truth into that connection, whether it is professional or romantic or a friend, and as you breathe truth into that, you end it is professional or romantic or a friend, and as you breathe truth into that, you end up helping both parties out. And another thing that you want to do is don't assume that the other person will be the one to initiate a difficult conversation right now. So if the energy of a relationship in your life is precarious, tenuous, you don't really know where it's going don't expect the other person to carry forward or raise that discussion with you. Raise that conversation.

Speaker 1:

There is no fire in the sky right now, either as I'm talking or during this eclipse. So no planets and fire signs, except for Chiron in the North Node. The North Node is not a planet, it's just a calculation. Chiron in the North Node the North Node is not a planet, it's just a calculation. Chiron is a minor planet, so most people around you will not actually be harnessing that sort of you know, that fiery, risk-loving, decisive energy, action-oriented.

Speaker 1:

A lot of people are only going to be feeling that charge when, when they're when the mars and cancer transit is activated, which means, if anything, people may be acting in kind of a petty way because mars and cancer sometimes will have this notion that it's like defending some and like protecting something. That's like monumental when it's really minuscule. Actually so and I'm not trying to pick on mars and cancer out of malice or anything it's just that technically mars has fallen in cancer, so mars is a week in a weaker position in cancer. So don't expect the people in your life this week to step up and own up to their mistakes or even to again vocalize something. Nobody can read anyone's mind in general in those types of situations. Don't expect that your partner is going to be able to read your mind. Don't expect that your partner is going to be able to read your mind.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, I think those are some of the key takeaways of how to approach this eclipse strategically, but I also want to talk about the cycle of Venus in order to contextualize this eclipse and again reveal that hidden meaning. Contextualize this eclipse and again reveal that hidden meaning. So in order to do that, we have to go back to that eclipse in October 2023. So go back to October 14th 2023. We're going to go on a little scavenger hunt and I do think this will help you really again understand the position of this eclipse in the storyline, in the narrative arc that has been your life for the past well over a year, since the South Node has been in Libra, no-transcript and ask anyone from 86 or 87, meaning 1986 or 1987, anyone who was born during those two years, what their relationships have been like. And that is sort of a window into the South Node experience.

Speaker 1:

Like a lot of people who were born in 86 and 87 have been in relationships that felt really familiar but they didn't always pan out or work. And, by the way, if you're born during those two years, obviously you can find a really welcoming partner and a great relationship. But I'm saying at the outset of your life, meaning you know, in your twenties, maybe part of your teens, you probably were mostly kind of experiencing a lot of karma from past lives in relationships Like you were probably meeting people in college and after college who felt very again familiar to you, but that's because you probably had a connection with them in a past life. And while that can be nice to kind of, you know, sit with a relationship that feels comfortable, eventually growth is sort of missing. There's just no growth left, no growth potential, and so you know you walk away from that and then maybe you find another comfortable relationship and then you're dissatisfied with that and eventually you realize, oh I have to lean into my North Node in Aries, I have to operate independently, avoid codependence and trust Remember, libra is about trust, but with Aries we're trusting that we can walk alone, we can walk our own path if we have to Not that we will, but that we can. And then when you sort of realize that and you fully internalize that, the right partner, the ideal partner, shows up. So all of us are going through some version of that and we have been for the past year and change, realizing that yes, we want a relationship, we want to cultivate a trusting union with someone which is Libra. But in order to find a healthy relationship, we have to recognize our own self-worth and, with Chiron being in Aries still and throughout this eclipse cycle, we have to practice self-love and then with that love, that love radiates out and attracts the right person. So this story to me, even though it initiated in july, by the way of 2023, when the nodes shifted into aries and libra, like that, that was really when you probably started to feel this energy.

Speaker 1:

Um, you know the and, by the way, there was an eclipse before this, but I think in in aries, but I don't think that that necessarily had to be, um, a launch point for you. So I'm just gonna quickly consult my software here and go back to that day. So that was april 19th of 2023. Like, technically, there was a solar hybrid eclipse at 29 aries, while the north node was still in Taurus and the south node was in Scorpio. So, interestingly, actually, mars was in a pretty much the same position it will be in during this eclipse coming up, but at that 29th degree. You know, you could go back to April 19th 2023, and just like gauge what was going on in your life at that time and certainly it may be relevant to you and so, if it is, I would obviously work with that timeline as well. But for now, I want to focus on mostly this October 14th solar annular eclipse that happened in 2023, because this is when the South Node was actually in Libra. This is when the south node was actually in Libra, and there are many aspects of this eclipse coming up on October 2nd that mirrored this other one in October of last year. Like Mercury was in Libra back then, south node was in Libra, mars was in a water sign, pluto was in cap, etc.

Speaker 1:

But that eclipse, I think, was more pointing out a blind spot for you in a relationship or forcing you, maybe for the first time, to really reckon with some sort of pattern or behavior that you've had in a relationship that has to start to change. That has to start to change. And Venus, which is really holding the key here or it is the key Venus, was opposing Saturn at that time after its retrograde in Leo. So we had come out of a pretty rough Venus retrograde. In my opinion although it will depend based on your birth chart but that Venus retrograde in Leo, I think, drained a lot of the fun and joy out of certain relationships and forced you to obviously, like any Venus retrograde, reflect on your values, but also to reflect on whether or not your relationship had any romantic spark left. And so by the time we reached that eclipse in October, venus was fallen in Virgo, opposing Saturn, the planet of really karma and tough lessons and wisdom.

Speaker 1:

And a lot of people last mid-October broke up, ended a relationship or just learned a really tough lesson and, yes, in some cases committed to somebody. But think about your life in October of 2023. And that will give you, I think, a lot of clues as to how to prepare for this upcoming one. And then we have to jump to actually April 8th, or, sorry, may 25th of 2024, to reach the conclusion of that particular eclipse. So that eclipse set an energetic tone in your relationships all the way through March of 2024. That lunar penumbral eclipse was another transition period for you. So maybe at that point you had started to demonstrate to the universe that you had learned your lesson in a relationship. Perhaps you even started a relationship at that time, or maybe you ended one from the previous October. But also think about March 25th Again. What were you learning at that time? What wisdom were you gaining through other people? How like were you learning about the art of compromise at that time?

Speaker 1:

Now, venus, again, let's keep tracking the planet that rules Libra. Venus at that time was exalted opposite Virgo, where it's fallen, and again conjunct Saturn, or sorry, not again, but conjunct Saturn where, as before, it was opposing Saturn. So again in a hard aspect to Saturn, the planet of commitment, tough lessons, karma. So, yet again, we're seeing how, at each turn in these lunation cycles involving Libra, venus and Saturn are sort of in this interesting dance. And that will be sort of naturally occurring to some extent, right? Because when we have the Sun in Libra, you know, or the Sun in Aries, on that Libra-Aries axis, just by virtue of the fact that Saturn is in Pisces and Venus doesn't move farther than 47 degrees away from the Sun and Venus doesn't move farther than 47 degrees away from the Sun, venus will be in a position to potentially, you know, reach that sort of hard aspect with Saturn. It just depends on where it is in its synodic cycle, right? So, but I think that that is very important to keep in mind, the fact that Saturn is in Pisces throughout these, you know eclipses in Libra and Aries is Saturn and Pisces.

Speaker 1:

Pisces is all about, well, I guess, in a Venusian context. Pisces has a lot to do with devotional, sacrificial love, this sort of unifying love, this divine love, this healing love. And last October Venus and Virgo had a harshness to it and there was an unexpected, sudden nature to that eclipse because we were all sort of getting in touch with the South Node and Libra by March 25th of this year. I think that a lot of us had a chance to really create magic with someone else or in a relationship. And so now we're seeing, okay, well, there's a dance going on between Venus and Saturn in this eclipse cycle, and Venus again, is that planet of love and harmony, relationships, and Saturn is commitment.

Speaker 1:

So naturally, I'm sure at each of these stages of these eclipse cycles, you've been forced to reckon with some really daunting challenges or hurdles in some kind of interpersonal situation. But the Venus Saturn aspects are telling you that the best relationships are perfected over time, or even if they never reach a state of perfection, they are at least refined and improved and they evolve just by virtue of two people committing to something and sticking it out. Now, of course, I'm not saying that people should hold on to a relationship that's not right for them. Again, speak your needs, don't lie to yourself. Advocate for yourself, assert yourself, breathe truth into the relationship. But also don't run away just because there's a minor challenge. Like fantastic relationships are hard to find, especially in our day and age. Like fantastic relationships are hard to find, especially in our day and age.

Speaker 1:

So here's Venus and Saturn continually telling me the astrologer to tell you that it takes time. It's not like not every day has to be magic, Not every day has to be even fun. There will be days when you just, I don't know. You're just trying to keep the relationship alive. But there is value on the other side of that. There is a heartfelt richness, a cherishing of the union. There is a yeah, just an enjoyment of it. There's a stability to it, but not necessarily a predictability, but just a reliability.

Speaker 1:

And you know, I think that in some ways our relationships reflect our own internal dialogue. Self-perception like the best relationship for you is absolutely out there, but it starts with rewiring your thought process patterns, your sense of self. And, yeah, again, it really starts with the thoughts. Are you telling yourself the truth about what you need? Are you telling yourself the truth about what you need? Are you telling yourself the truth about who you're with right now and whether or not they can meet your expectations? Yeah, there's probably going to be a lot of breakups during this eclipse, just like last October, but it doesn't have to be that way. You can also look at these eclipses in Libra as, again, a reminder that these relationships are chiseled over time and experience makes the relationship richer and more valuable. Just to say that I remember that time with you and we experienced that together and we overcame that challenge together.

Speaker 1:

Like there's a great song by one of my favorite bands, prefab Sprout, which is like a sort of a I don't know pop, jazz, alternative indie band from the UK from the eighties and they have a song called I Remember that and one of the lyric is nothing sounds as good as I remember that. And you know it's like you may be in a position someday where it's like you're on a date with someone new and there's some excitement there. It's like you know the novelty factor is you're seeing, you're sort of basking in the novelty factor of it, but then you want to kind of like you, you tell them a story about your. Like you know, from 10 years ago or about your 20s or your 30s, and you can tell that they're just not really getting it, they're not really internalizing what you're saying. And then you suddenly you wish that someone you had dated back then, you know, was there to be able to resonate with that story, because maybe they were there with you or they were in your life at that time. And then there's sort of a wistful regret that sweeps over you. Now I'm not telling that story to say that that will be your fate or anything, but you know, there's moments like that when I think people realize that there may have been a really rewarding sort of experience on the other side of all those challenges if they had stuck with that person. So like, if you have, if you have Mars conjunct Venus in your chart, which is pretty much the opposite energy of Saturn conjunct Venus you may be someone who impatiently pushes away a partner if they're not meeting your needs Right away. There's this sort of this again impatience with Mars, but with Saturn, it's all about patience sort of this again impatience with Mars, but with Saturn, it's all about patience. So in this Venus cycle, in this eclipse cycle, I think the position of Venus is telling us like, don't assume that when you let go of that partner who is actually terrible and is actually maybe even a bad person or something, don't assume that when you let go of them, that you're just going to manifest your dream partner out of thin air and that even when you do manifest them, that is just going to be easy and effortless. It's not Saturn's going to show you hey, there's going to be a lot of effort, so when your dream person comes through, it's going to be a boot camp in some way.

Speaker 1:

So, march 25th, venus can join Saturn and then the lunar eclipse or sorry, the solar eclipse coming up. What's going on here? Well, venus is actually trining Saturn. So I think this eclipse again can be about positive, beneficial commitments For some of you, financial contracts with Venus in Scorpio specifically. But I don't think that this eclipse will be quite as fractious as the last eclipse in October 2023. I think this one has a been there, done that attitude. We've seen this before. We can manage it. But if you have been biting your tongue, you haven't raised your concerns, voiced your concerns with a partner. Well then, you probably should do it now, october 2nd.

Speaker 1:

Now, what is this building up to? Well, it's building up to a solar or, sorry, it's building up to a full moon in Libra on April 12th of 2025. I had to pause there for a second because I was just checking on my software when the eclipses were happening after that, checking on my software when the eclipses were happening after that. But, yeah, april 12th 2025 is the Fulman in Libra, which is the cresting of this energy I'm talking about, and you know there was, there is an eclipse right before that in Aries, I believe. So March 29th. Yeah, nine degrees of Aries, and that really is the last eclipse in you know, sort of that Aries-Libra cycle or axis. I should say. Everything after that is going to switch over to Virgo, you know, and Pisces.

Speaker 1:

So when we go to that eclipse on April or, sorry, that full moon on April 12th of 2025, you know, we are looking at really the conclusion of these lessons, I think. And you know, look at what's happening here Venus again conjunct Saturn and Pisces and this time, instead of, you know, finishing out its retrograde cycle and getting out of its retrograde cycle during that solar eclipse in Libra October 2023, like it was opposing Saturn in, like you know, venus was in Virgo opposing Saturn. That is obviously a very tough aspect. That felt more like a rude awakening. In this case, april 12, 2025, the Libra full moon, venus, again, in this case like basically about to station direct in Pisces, but conjunct Saturn, the North Node and Mercury.

Speaker 1:

That, to me, can be the ultimate lesson that, again, relationships take time, even the right relationship, even the dream relationship and I talked about this in a video last week but relationships here, through this eclipse cycle, should become anti-fragile, and I think that's just a fantastic term that is used in a number of different contexts. But essentially, you want to create a relationship that actually gets better in response to challenges. It not only just adapts to survive, but it is a relationship that you know whenever it's met with resistance, it sees that as resistance training and it just gets stronger, because no relationship will be, you know, literally perfect or without. Again, it's challenges. So hopefully, by April 12th 2025, you've either fully processed that lesson, which again will take time to process, like, even if you're listening to me now and you're nodding and you're like, yeah, that makes sense, you will still run into bottlenecks, I'm sure, where a partner does something you don't like or you do something they don't like and you have to come to some kind of agreement about something, some kind of compromise. I think that you can create a flow of energy in your relationships by this point in April 2025 that is harmonious, transparent, honest, open, respectful, dignified and trusting and hopefully, by that time again, you either have manifested that relationship you've wanted or you've adopted the right mindset for it.

Speaker 1:

And, with the North Node being in Aries through January of 2025, before that time, maybe you're just hitting a new stride independently and you don't have an agenda with a relationship and you're just welcoming whatever comes next, but you're not desperately looking for one, a relationship. But I would say that if you're looking to use these energies which are here for the taking, you should focus on relationships in some respect, because you can learn a lot about yourself through other people during these cycles of eclipses and Aries and Libra. We ultimately have to strike a balance with the lunar nodes. We have to lean into the north node to find our independence, but then we have to bring that back into that south node in Libra to cultivate relationships that don't feel stagnant, that don't repeat the same patterns, relationships that operate with a sense of mutual respect. So I think to be a lone wolf and I'm not saying that everyone needs to be in a romantic relationship right now, by the way but to be totally isolated from other people is just not really making use of these transits. Because the North Node in Aries doesn't mean stand on your own island, because you're not going to learn necessarily anything by standing on your own island, necessarily anything by standing on your own island. I think you're going to grow and evolve the most by working through relationships, transparently and steadfastly, separating the wheat from the chaff, realizing which relationships are productive for you, which ones are not, and moving forward accordingly, such that, by April 12th 2025, you are in a relationship that one could say is attaining some kind of divine love, or maybe tapping into a universal love or a devotional love, a relationship that is truly uplifting and selfless, and joyful and blissful, and spiritual, maybe, and spiritually enlightening, all at the same time. So, again, well, let me also give you the timing of this eclipse before I head out, because I don't think I even specified that for you. Ironically, sometimes that happens right, but it is October 2nd, 1149 am, pacific Time, at 10 degrees of Libra. So, thank you so much.

Speaker 1:

I'm Evan Nathaniel Grimm. Don't forget to subscribe to my substack newsletter. Remember that you can access weekly live birth chart readings through my substack. I will also be announcing my 2025 birth chart reading appointments very soon in the next few days, or even potentially one to two weeks, but but very soon. And if you want to get first dibs on those readings, then become a paid Substack subscriber, because my paid Substack subscribers will be notified about it first and they will have the best chance to get an appointment. I'm only doing a hundred readings next year and then after that I will announce it to my broader Substack community and then to my Instagram also.

Speaker 1:

I will have 2025 forecasts forecast videos available in the fall and those will cover every new and full moon for your sun moon and rising sign, and I've done these in the previous two years. People have really gotten a lot of value out of them. They've planned their move or relocation or their relationship decisions around my videos and it's really helped them. Actually.
