Embracing the Extremes of the Scorpio New Moon
What if you could harness celestial energies to catalyze profound personal transformation? Join me, Evan Nathaniel Grim, as we navigate the intense Scorpio New Moon on November 1st defined by the opposition of Mars and Pluto. As a Scorpio sun and moon, I provide personal insights on overcoming emotional stagnation, offering listeners a unique perspective on how to channel these powerful forces to manifest growth and motivation.
Prepare to confront your deepest emotions and attachments during this Scorpio New Moon, akin to stripping away distractions in a sensory deprivation tank. The powerful energy of Scorpio encourages us to release past challenges, revealing our soul's true essence and aligning with our evolutionary potential. This cathartic process is likened to completing a marathon, where inner strength emerges unexpectedly, allowing us to embrace change and rebirth fully.
The episode also explores the broader astrological influences of this lunation. With Mars opposing Pluto, we discuss the temptation to engage in conflicts and stand up for the underdog, while a Grand Water Trine offers opportunities for compassion and intuition. Unexpected revelations may arise as Mercury opposes Uranus, and relationships come into focus with Venus opposing Jupiter. As Pluto transitions from Capricorn to Aquarius, this new moon becomes a pivotal release point, paving the way for transformation in personal and collective contexts. Embrace the change and let go of past limitations to align with your truest evolutionary form.
Hey, there, it's Evan Nathaniel Grimm, and welcome back to another episode of Astrology Unbound. Today, I will be talking about the Scorpio New Moon happening on November 1st. Before I start, though, be sure to check out my Substack newsletter for an in-depth breakdown of my predictions for the world, also my sign-by-sign horoscopes. Now, I do have a free service through this, where you can still access the monthly predictions and many of the key themes, but I also have a paid service where you get the more detailed intention-setting guides, the sign-by-sign horoscopes, and also you do get a weekly live show with me where I do live birth chart readings. So let's discuss the Scorpio new moon, and also I'd just like to note that I have been off the past couple weeks due to a combination of traveling and also gearing up for the 2025 forecast videos, which will be available very soon. The 2025 forecast videos, which will be available very soon. Those videos are covering every single new and full moon next year, tailored to your zodiac sign, and I've done these videos in the past 2023 and 2024. And, yeah, people always report back to me that it helped them plan out the year, whether they're trying to move or time. You know, a new job change. You know, buying property, there's many, many questions that people have and they want to, you know, plan ahead and not wing it for the year. So those videos will be perfect for that. And those videos include charts that I create key transits, retrograde timelines, key transits, retrograde timelines, ingresses, and then, of course, well, even custom rankings of each month for your sign and, of course, you know, every single noon, full moon. So those videos, I'm really proud of how they came together and you'll want to definitely download them when they are available. So, anyways, I'm back now and and thank you, by the way, for listening and for your support and we're here to talk about the Scorpio new moon.
Speaker 1:So let's just break this down. Every time we look at a new moon, we are really looking at an opportunity to initiate something new in our lives and to start to manifest something in the physical plane, and a new moon is a time for setting intentions of what you want to accomplish within this lunation cycle. Now the energy really peaks about two weeks later on the full moon, and the full moon is when we have fully fleshed out our idea and manifested it fully and we're ready to release the aspects of it that no longer serve us or to celebrate a milestone. But also full moons can be moments where everything clicks, comes together and we have an epiphany and a sudden moment of awareness and in that way full moons also can be transitions. And then there's a waning hemicycle after the full moon where we are further pruning what we manifested and optimizing it, tweaking it, and then by the last quarter moon we're fully purging, letting go and just getting ready for the next cycle and the energy is winding down. And go and just getting ready for the next cycle and the energy is winding down. So the new moon is that powerful initiation. And this new moon is especially intense because the two ruling planets of Scorpio are Mars and Pluto and they're opposing each other almost exactly on this new moon, opposing each other almost exactly on this new moon. So this is almost making it especially scorpionic.
Speaker 1:And, you know, a Scorpio new moon is really a time where we want to dig deeper, where we want to, you know, push further, investigate the subterranean, the subliminal, further. Investigate the subterranean, the subliminal, read between the lines, to, you know, really examine our own subconscious and psyche, but also to, I think, you know, really dig up some really powerful revelations. And specifically, it's an opportunity for transmutation. You know Scorpio and I'm actually a Scorpio sun and moon, so you know this is and it's actually on my natal moon, exactly. So you know, the energy of Scorpio is really interesting because Scorpios will go through this, these periods of anguish in their lives, I mean where it's like they're kind of festering and brooding and they're not really doing anything with their energy. It's stuck because you know it's a fixed water sign. So it's like Scorpio holds on to the feelings and Scorpio holds on until, you know, there's, you know it eventually becomes untenable to hold on to that memory or that feeling, and that's when Scorpio releases or purges or, you know, turns some of that anguish into more positive energy that can really carry them to a totally transformed version of themselves or a new era. And that's, I mean, that's really the power of Scorpio. It's just a reminder that energy can be transformed and transmuted.
Speaker 1:So you know, there were times in my life when I especially when I was a teenager and I'm sure everybody can relate to this but you know, there were many, many years of my life where I felt like I was stuck in place, where I was going through a loop of you know, whatever it was. You know sadness or negativity and you know resentment and bitterness and like not really sure why. You know I can't improve my circumstances or my outcome. And then all of a sudden I hook into something else and I'm like, oh, I understand now how I can use this energy. Negative energy can now be transferred over to something that looks more like outward motivation to actually get things moving and grooving and to get your life flowing in the way you want. So Scorpio has an all or nothing sort of persona to it.
Speaker 1:So, yeah, it can be like steeped in anguish but then just as quickly, after a sort of purging of sorts, it can be sort of levitating and really, you know, going through. You know they understand sort of like the depths of either despair or anguish and they've just gone through some kind of like, whether it's a near-death experience or experiencing death in the family or with friends or something traumatic but they're able to ultimately, you know, operate from a place of empathy after going through some of that. So anyway, scorpio is a time for all of us in the collective to be really honest about. You know ourselves in the same way of like just taking this sort of fearless look into either our own darkness, our own yeah shadows, our own challenges from the past that maybe we've just continued to avoid, etc. And take all of that energy and again sort of elevate it to a position where it's actually helping enlighten us. But the way that we actually elevate because I'm sure you're wondering like well, evan, how do you actually transform something like that, some type of energy that feels so bitter or dark it's really about taking again that really honest look at yourself, your memories, your emotions, how you're feeling, but also practicing detachment after that. So step one is to actually like completely uncover the truth. But step two is really to hold compassion for yourself and say like, hey, you know, I don't have to be bitter about this anymore, or I don't have to be vengeful, or I don't have to be obsessed with this anymore. I don't have to, yeah, fixate on this thing. I can actually let that feeling go, and as you let it go, you're able to finally transfer that energy. It's almost like this energy is getting out from under a wrestler that's pinning it down. So, scorpio, you know, the tighter it holds on to an emotion, um, the more challenging and untenable the position gets, and eventually that's when Scorpio's let it go.
Speaker 1:So you know, as a Scorpio again, I've experienced. I've experienced that, definitely, have experienced that in in my own life and, um, you know, uh, in eras where I did feel like I was holding on to, maybe, let's say like in high school, like the feeling of holding on to an ex or something and the notion of like, oh, I wish I was still with her or something, and then you know, but then also writing music about it, and that's part of that transformational process, writing music about it. And that's part of that transformational process, like I remember in high school, like really reeling from a breakup, and then my fifth house, scorpio Stellium, decided, okay, well, let's do something with this energy, let's not, like, sit with the sadness. But then, even after writing the music and everything, I still felt like I was holding on to something and it took a long time for me to realize how all these different, maybe relationships connected and how it connected to my early life, et cetera. And so Scorpio is a chance for us to really connect the dots to the most like emotionally extreme moments in our life, and a lot of times those emotional extremes are coming from a consistent place that is deeply rooted, and sometimes in past lives, in our ancestry or just other experiences in our past.
Speaker 1:So a Scorpio new moon, though, is a commitment to again looking into those more you know uncomfortable places, also looking to again detach from some of those things, because I promise you anything you let go of that has a hold on you, cause, again, scorpio is about control as well, and, like sometimes our emotions can, like, obviously, control us, scorpio is a reminder that we can, like, submerge ourselves into those waters, experience those emotions and then ultimately, you know, kind of make peace with them and go through this extremely cathartic release in letting go. And as we do that, I think there's something that we discover. Well, I think there's something we discover when we go into those depths right, Because I mean, I use this analogy sometimes of, like it's like a sensory deprivation tank. You know it's like a sensory deprivation tank. You know, with Scorpio, it's ultimately like you're taking away, you know, all of the outer layers and all of the distractions, and you're just sitting inside of this. You know dark chasm, and you're just like, okay, what's left to look at here?
Speaker 1:And eventually, when you rip away enough distractions, you reach the kernel of truth, or the root of all the roots and then you realize, okay, this is the singular emotion or experience or challenge that I have faced in my life and this has contributed to all these other challenge that I have faced in my life. And it comes, yeah, and this has contributed to all these other, it's manifested in all these other ways. This is why I am controlling in every situation. It's because of this moment where I didn't have control, or this is why I don't trust anybody. And obviously, for some people it's more obvious how it all connects and how it ties what it ties back to. But for other people, you know, it could be deeply rooted again in their family history, could be something from childhood or even just like infancy.
Speaker 1:And you know, scorpio is kind of bringing us into that realm where, yes, we understand what is at the core of some of our you know just our challenges, whether it be psychologically or otherwise. But then it also gives us sort of a look at our soul's true essence, I think, which gets obscured by pretty much everything in our society. Right, like we experience there's so many reasons to either put up a front or wear a mask, to hide some aspect of ourselves, to pretend like something isn't there in order to assimilate into a social group or to stand out and be popular or something. And so Scorpio is like becoming almost brutally honest with the self, but also I think it's really honoring the self in a lot of ways, because it's like looking at the identity beyond the actual egoic identity, really, like we're really getting into, into the crucible of transformation and also the centerpiece of who you are, at the seat of your soul. And so, anyways, the Scorpio energy allows us to see what our soul is all about and what our potential actually is.
Speaker 1:And Scorpio, ultimately, is that rebirth for the sake of evolution, right. So we are ultimately trying to evolve and when we find that, we often find our soul's purpose in our darkest hour, right. So it's like either through the investigation of our shadows or through a tower moment or a moment of loss, because, you know, when we lose things that we have been attached to, especially in the external world, obviously we grieve that. We grieve that job or that house or that person or that family member or whatever we have lost or whoever we have lost. We grieve that. But there is an opportunity in those moments to see what voids are actually filled and also to see what remains and what is resilience and what is sustained inside of us through all of that strife and duress. And I'll use the analogy I've used on other videos and shows I've done. Scorpio and Pluto especially, has this energy of running those last few miles of a marathon. A lot of people who run full marathons 26 miles they don't actually train by running 26 miles. A lot of them, especially first-time marathon runners, they've only tried running maybe 20 miles before that event.
Speaker 1:Scorpio is that feeling of the 24th, 25th, 26th mile. You think you have nothing left and then suddenly something emerges from you which is like this raw, real sense of purpose and it really does escape the physical plane. I think that there's something in us that drives us to continue, because Scorpio has that survival at type of mentality, and so it is actually, in my opinion, it is the most powerful sign, because it's like getting you through that feeling of like, oh, this is the 11th hour, no, this is the 11th hour. Oh wait, maybe there's something eternal here that's driving me. That's actually driving me across lifetimes, and so there are difficult moments in my life where it feels like everything's ending, but it's actually not. You know, it's like you are going through experiences that will again not just shape this lifetime but the next lifetime, and it has been a continuation of past lives as well.
Speaker 1:So the Scorpio new moon is that chance to witness the soul's essence and evolutionary potential, and the only way to evolve is to detach and let go of the past. Remember, this is a water sign and yes, scorpio, as a water sign, will always be somewhat focused on the past and things that have happened. But in this case, with a Scorpio new moon, with Mars opposite Pluto, both being the chart rulers, it's like clearly there's a feeling here of being stuck. Clearly there is nowhere you know nowhere else to turn, but like to go in a completely new direction. It's like holding on to the emotions is not going to carry you to the next chapter, to carry you to the next chapter. So you know, with Scorpio here, it's like we're committing to feeling these emotions at the utmost intensity, but you know we're also going to like accept, accept that past, accept what happened and then uproot the cause of maybe, or uproot the source of those negative feelings and ultimately either show compassion for yourself or someone else and let go, like I said, and as we let go, remember all this energy is suddenly unlocked and it has to go somewhere and ideally that energy goes towards the soul's evolution. And I think Scorpio, as a sign, is showing us where we face these sort of karmic tests in a lot of ways and Capricorn is that way too but Scorpio is showing us opportunities to respond to these extremes of emotion with, you know, eventually a letting go and a faith that our evolutionary journey can be carried out.
Speaker 1:So yeah, I could go on and on about Scorpio, but essentially this new moon is defined by the Mars-Pluto opposition. So you're probably going to face some temptations to double down, dig your heels, continue a conflict and to not give up. But you will experience, I think, obsessions on this new moon, fixations and tunnel vision in a way. But you have to make sure it's like a healthy obsession, whatever it is, because when we're talking about Scorpio it has an obsessive nature and obviously, as it lets go it does actually rise above the obsessions and eventually it almost like experiences true peace, because that is the final stage. You know we're going from a scorpion to an eagle, to a dove, and once it reaches the dove stage, you know it's like a Scorpio at that point is actually more peaceful than, arguably, any Zodiac sign, because it's actually experienced the, the anguish, to the fullest extent and the other extreme, and so it can almost reach extreme tranquility and extreme peace, which in of itself sounds kind of bizarre, but I think it is possible.
Speaker 1:For again, like going back to the Lord of the Rings metaphor I've used in other shows, it's kind of like Gandalf the Grey going down into the depths with the Balrog and he's like fighting this monster and then he emerges as Gandalf the White. And that is how Scorpio operates. Like you have to go down into those depths and you know again, in order to maybe recover a and what your essence is and to realize again that there is something sort of hidden, an unseen force that has been powering you and empowering you throughout this lifetime. But on this new moon there will be potentially some obsessions that develop and some areas where you won't want to back down or give up. But again, you don't want to feed any negative energy into that. You don't want to feed on the negative energy, I should say.
Speaker 1:And Mars, opposite Pluto, will probably put some enemies in front of you and they will say like, oh, I think you should do this, or people who try to control you and like you'll want to respond, you know, equally by trying to control them. And it's like you don't want to respond in that way. So, just like, kind of evade any kind of domineering situation. And also, you know, use this new moon to translate, transmute and transform again any more negative, aggressive energy and, you know, transmute it into something a little bit lighter and more freeing. But you know, you can absolutely press ahead with something that you're like relentlessly focused on with this Mars-Pluto opposition and you can focus on that but also learn to detach from the outcome of it, because Scorpio can be overly attached to the outcome, overly controlling trolling, and you know, I actually think that detachment is possible here because we do have a Grand Water Trine.
Speaker 1:For what it's worth I don't think that the Grand Water Trine is necessarily going to, you know, override this Mars-Pluto opposition. But you know, if you actually include the sextiles, obviously it's a kite, this is actually a kite formation, with the Mars Pluto Opposition actually driving the kite, right. So it's like in theory the kite is sort of undergirded by a compassion and an intuition, right, but then with the Mars-Pluto opposition sort of in the driver's seat, it's like you're using that intuition to obsess over healing yourself, healing others, you know, being creative, standing up for, you know, a marginalized group of people or something, because Mars opposite Pluto, can really fight for the underdogs. So, you know, see this as a time where maybe you'll also, you know, stand up for anyone who is downtrodden. We also do have Mercury opposing Uranus, which can really bring in some amazing epiphanies, revelations, and a lot of people will be going through a total change in mindset at this time, and maybe it's through a conversation with somebody mindset at this time, and maybe it's through a conversation with somebody. We do have a Venus Jupiter opposition, which is really nice and also additive to your perspective. It is additive to your perspective through the lens of relationships.
Speaker 1:So many of you will discover more, uh, many of you will have these insights through a conversation. You know someone will tell you something around Halloween or on November 1st that, um, you maybe I don't know, you just like didn't expect them to say and they don't even realize how, um, you know, insightful it is for you. But as they mentioned something to you, they give you a new perspective you didn't have and that new perspective is suddenly revealing to you that, hey, like I really want to dig into this further and I want to keep digging into this further. They may say something that validates this extreme transformation or transition you're going through, because Scorpio has that energy of destructiveness. Right, it feels destructive at first, but Pluto, the ruling planet of Scorpio, is leaving Capricorn during this cycle and it will be in Aquarius before we reach the next new moon. So someone might validate a pathway for you that you've been thinking about for a long time, whether it's to completely switch your career path, to completely switch your relationships around, to move across the world.
Speaker 1:Whatever it is, this Scorpio moon actually does feel like a release point in some odd way, even though it's a new moon. It's like you might be releasing some emotions here that did have control over you, that were preventing you from again I don't know accepting a part of yourself or fully allowing yourself to again enter this Pluto and Aquarius era with a completely fresh sense of self. So a lot of you, you know if any of you have been dealing with extreme losses or feelings that things have just broken away or broken apart in your life. This is the time to again dig deep and realize that and I'm not even being cliche, it is always darkest before the dawn.
Speaker 1:If you feel like you've lost everything, this is when you begin anew and this is when maybe your most powerful era actually starts, because clearly you've probably lost things that aren't serving that evolutionary journey of the soul and in fact the worst thing we can do sometimes is hold on the worst thing we can do because that again blocks that extra sort of space for us to use the energy differently and when we hold on we kind of don't really give ourselves a lot of wiggle room or creative options to move forward. So you know again, welcome any perspectives from people during this new moon, welcome any insights that you might gain about yourself, and just take that in stride and then again see this all as an opportunity to start a whole new cycle of Pluto and a new sign for the next 19 years. So, no matter how much may be ending for you right now, no matter how many eras are coming to a conclusion, just number one, like, just realize that most other people are in that boat right, like everybody is ending some massive eras right now. And the Scorpio new moon is also about finances. Sometimes, like people might be investing in a different future, investing in a different property, investing in moving or traveling across the world and investing in a cause, but, like Scorpio, can be very much financial, and we do have Venus opposing Jupiter, so some of you will, you know, spend money on things that set you up for this evolutionary journey somehow. And yeah, I think that really, ultimately, I mean, I feel like I've covered the vast majority of what this new moon is about. I think this to remind you and summarize this this is about, you know, being brutally honest about everything in your life, but in order to welcome you know, to compassionately, empathetically welcome you know room for a completely new beginning, a completely new era. Expect to have certain relentless obsessions during this time. Just make sure they're healthy ones and also do not fixate on needing a specific outcome. Have an opportunity here to discuss things with other people and to have these new perspectives coming in through those conversations that ultimately also facilitate and support this evolution. And anything that's falling apart for you right now clearly was just not meant to follow you into that Pluto and Aquarius era, which we have seen previews of already, with Pluto in March 2023 and parts of 2024, but it hasn't fully, earnestly begun until this coming November, november 19th. So the changes that the transformations you undergo during this time are absolutely supportive of a 19-year cycle of Pluto and a new sign.
Speaker 1:And like, think about your life in late 2007, right before Pluto changed signs. Back then, you know what was I Junior in high school? Absolutely completely a different person from who that was then. And as Pluto changed signs, even back then, I remember having to actually really accept a lot of changes, like going to university way far away from my hometown and actually feeling a lot of homesickness as a cancer rising. Sure, you know feeling homesick and feeling like did I mess up here or can I handle this? But ultimately, you know, persisting through that and now being here because of that.
Speaker 1:So it's like, as we persist through those challenging moments, it's like really what I was doing back then is I was embracing and accepting the fact that everything was about to change for me. So it's like we have to accept that everything is about to change as a nation, as a world, as a collective, as an individual, as a partner, as a friend, like everything is changing. So accept that, embrace the transformation that comes, and the full moon after this is going to support your long-term ambitions, because Saturn's going to station direct by the time we reach that full moon. What we cannot change, but we also let go of some of those things that we can't change from our past in order to really become our truest self, because when we hold on to past energy, it's like we are absolutely limiting ourselves. So let go break those limitations and step into that next Pluto in Aquarius phase, really as a new person in a lot of ways, who's going to be able to withstand whatever comes up.
Speaker 1:I want to remind you to download those 2025 forecast videos when they come out in the next couple weeks To also book a 2025 reading, and those are going to be launched very soon. Also, subscribe to my sub stack, which is where you'll be able to find my live weekly readings, also courses, manifestation guides, new and full moon guides, predictions, etc. So, thank you so much. I'm Evan Nathaniel Grimm and I will see you at the next episode, take care.
